Info: If... (1968)
Time
Don't know if this might interest you, but an Italian satellite channel just aired If... using an extremely nice master, possibly a new digital transfer. I can record it the next time it will air (I don't know when, since even this showing strangely doesn't appear on any tv-guide), obviously in English without any subtitle, but there are two problems: the channel's bitrate is a bit low, and it's panned & scanned. I know this is a big issue as I'm an aspect ratio freak too, but until a DVD release comes out I guess this is the best quality we can get.

Sergio Leone Preservations - Dollars Trilogy, Fistful of Dynamite, Once Upon a Time in the West (Released)
Time
The original Italian dvd of "For a Few Dollars More" is kinda rare nowdays (and, if I recall correctly, the aspect ratio is cropped to 1.85:1), it has been replaced by a new one with the original aspect ratio but it's missing the bit of dialogue in the beating scene (also leaving a big plot hole). Apparently a new company now owns the rights for the Leone films, and a few months ago they published a new edition of A Fistful of Dollars which included an English audio track and restored the original opening/ending credits; if another dvd of "For a Few Dollars More" comes out it will probably include that cut scene in the original aspect ratio.

Info Wanted: Has anyone done any Unaltered Disney Classics preservations?

Aladdin, Beauty and the Beast and Fantasia are also changed, although making a theatrical cut of Fantasia would be very difficult.

At least some footage with the deleted character in the "Pastoral" exist somewhere: there's a PAL VHS recording around from an Italian tv-station that telecined an old Italian copy of the movie, and that scene is unaltered. I've seen it somewhere on the web, but the quality was awful (it was a low bitrate .rm I think).

The Thief and the Cobbler: Recobbled Director's Cut (Released)
Time
Just finished watching it, awesome work. Just as a curiosity, is the 4:3 footage such as the Mighty One Eye death Calvert animation? Apart from the pink servants, those shots felt like they had some kind of different colors.
What I can't understand anyway is why they cut the War Machine sequence. Putting myself in the mind of a producer wanting to make money without risking with an "artsy" film (they didn't anyway) I can see how some scenes could be cut to fasten the pace or make everything less redundant; but I don't really see any reason to delete some of the best animation since the 40s Disney features which only last, what, two minutes?

Midnight Cowboy HD (Released)
Time
Ok I won't bother
Anyway here's the cover I did:
http://img130.imageshack.us/img130/66/midnight3dcover8mi.jpg

it doesn't look exactly as I intended since I messed up the template a bit, but in the final version the spine will be more centered and there should be more space between the title on the front cover and the bottom border. I'll distribuite it in a 3072 x 2136 TIFF file for maximum quality (since I used actual high resolution sources).

Midnight Cowboy HD (Released)
Time

After buying two different releases of this movie (R2 and R1 special edition) I became really fed up with the awful source they used for both. An amazingly good HD master was aired on HDNet (BEFORE the R1 SE came out), so I’m making a DL DVD (or possibly two SL DVDs as it’s a cheaper and slightly better quality-wise alternative) out of it. I’m also adding as a little special feature two alternate opening titles, using I Guess The Lord Must Be In New York City by Nilsson and Lay Lady Lay by Bob Dylan, as they were written specifically for this movie. It would be great to include the Criterion LD commentary too if somebody could rip it.
Let me know if you’re interested and I’ll upload it somewhere.

The Thief and the Cobbler: Recobbled Director's Cut (Released)
Time
First of all, thanks for this awesome restoration. I've been lurking here for a long time, I've decided to register because I'm working on a fan edit too, but anyway... Any chance to see the Recobbled Cut on Myspleen? I live in Europe so the shipping rates would be too high to order it from you or to trade it with somebody else, and I'm sure other people have this problem too.
