Droids Series Complete Set. Reconstruction from multiple sources. V1.0 is out! (Released)
Time

Soo... how much is it known about unaired pilots of Droids and Ewoks?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nkzhg1W6-ks&feature=youtu.be&t=416

Both can partially be seen there. Ewoks one seems to be an early form of "Haunted village" while Droids may be based on some abandoned premise.

Wouldn't even have know those existence had I not seen this cel on eBay:

(BTW, that seller has sold and is still selling TONS of Droids and Ewoks artwork (including concept art and early designs!). Might make a nice bonus feature for the next version of the DVD's. :) )

STAR WARS: EP IV 2004 REVISITED ADYWAN *1080p HD VERSION NOW IN PRODUCTION
Time

I know a lot of people will get upset over my opinion, but I just think this is a very flawed fan edit. The changes, in my opinion, are even worse than what George Lucas did with special editions.

Oh, look. Now there's gajillion more ships flying all around Death Star which is now in orbit of some planet for some reason.

Oh, look. Now there's gajillion more snowspeeders and gajillion more walkers.

Oh, look, now there's music during Obi-Wan VS Darth Vader... that sticks out like a sore thumb, much like Darth Vader's "NOOOOoooo" added in third SE o ROTJ.

And so on and on.

Yet edits by Lucas are met with well deserved criticism while there's a lot of praise for this, dare I say, butchery of worse magnitude?

Sorry if this offends someone, but that's just how I feel about this.

Somewhat offtopic:

I don't suppose there's an HD version of uncropped version of entire trilogy, is there?

Would love to have that one in HD as I grew up watching it and whenever I see widescreen version I just can't help but feel constantly that stuff is missing...

Granted, in some shots you actually get to see more of the picture in widescreen, but in most you end up losing more than you gain.

Here are some comparison pics:

There's a Japanese LD of the animated Flash Gordon movie?

Yep.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flash_Gordon#Flash_Gordon:_The_Greatest_Adventure_of_All_.281982.29

The only known commercial releases were by VAP Video in Japan (catalog #67019-128), c. 1983, in both laser disc and NTSC VHS videotape formats and in Bulgaria, where it was released on VHS "Van Chris" and "Drakar".

-Reason for Flash Gordon - There hasn’t been a single word about a DVD release of this rare animated movie by Filmation. Only this VHS TV recording is available to general public:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xGDOmOj-5Ow

A DVD release could be created by taking the english audio track from a Japanese Laserdic release and video (because the Laserdisc has unremovable subtitles) could be taken from a Bulgarian VHS release.

-Reason for G.I. Joe: A real American hero animated series - the DVD releases were sourced from test prints that featured animation errors that weren’t present in the broadcast version:

A proper DVD release could be created with the use of Family Home Entertainment VHS/BETA releases. This being a series would be very tough to do. So perhaps only the proper DVDs of 5 part episodes could be made?

Anyway, just throwing these ideas out on the table. If it’s possible, sweet. If not, oh well… 😃

Superb project and job well done! :)

Too bad there's not one for 80's Transformers and G.I. Joe cartoons. All DVD releases (except Maverick's release of season 1 episodes, first five episodes of season 3 and season 4 episodes) used test prints which feature errors that weren't present in the broadcast version.

Even old Ninja Turtles could use one thanks to the poorly done transfer. The judder on the DVD's is just shocking!
