I will say 2001 in particular seems like it’d be cool to see in a giant theater all by yourself.

Otherwise I agree with Possessed.

I got to see rogue one in a theater with just me and dad. It was pretty sweet. (Sunday night showing mixed with a snow storm)

I’ve never had the pleasure (which is odd considering how often I go to the movies). The closest I got was when I saw TLJ for the fourth time a month after it came out on a Tuesday morning. There were still like 7 or 8 other people in there, but it was at the Chinese Theater which has a capacity of almost a thousand, and I was sitting quite a few rows in front anyone else, so it just about seemed like I was the only one there.

I always knew you were a Californian. 😛

Sims 3 didn’t have DLC, it had Expansions 😛 . Sims 4 is a travesty. The original is more fun to play, and in some aspects isn’t as limited as 4 (crazy, right?). I spent a lot of time with the second and third games, I couldn’t tell you which one I’ve spent more time on (probably 2).

Yeah, well, I thought that by DLC you meant Expansion Packs and those Object Collections.

You’re right, I was being facetious ^_^. But TS4 definitely treats their add-ons more like DLC in the worst possible way. They still call them Expansions and Stuff Packs (and Game Packs, woopie…) but they’re much less substantial.

The only thing I didn’t get for 3 during the time I played it was the crazy Katy Perry pink/candy world thing. What the heck was that.

Yeah, that’s around when I lost interest in The Sims for maybe the second or third time. It was the first time I was truly embarrassed to be a fan of the series. I just recently became interested again.

And I probably played 3 more than 2, but not by much. 2 was so much fun though.

See, I really can’t tell which I played more. I’ve had 2 longer, but I went through a six-generation legacy in 3. I never spent that much time in a single neighborhood before, or a single family at the very least. Then again, I guess that’s one of the main differences between the two. One definitely favors playing a single family, and the other favors playing the whole neighborhood.

These days I can’t even play 3. It’s just so unoptimized it’s painful to run, and it was never as much fun as the second game anyway. People criticize the fourth game for removing the open world, but I never really saw much use for that in a Sims game anyway, most of it was empty space that ate up valuable resources.

How does other people drinking diet pop affect you?

Trump drinks diet pop.

Lyndon Johnson installed a Fresca tap in the White House. Does that make him Trump-like?

I hate Trump, but LBJ was worse.

Civil Rights Act, Voting Rights Act, the Great Society, Medicare/Medicaid. Yeah, sure LBJ was worse.

Many of those were programs JFK wanted to get through but never got the chance to, and lest we forget:

Trump may be an idiot, but he hasn’t knowingly lied about a foreign offensive that never took place so he could send thousands of the nation’s young men to die for a war they never asked for.

LBJ was no boyscout. Anyway, this isn’t the politics thread.

My point is…how would that small, unrelated thing shut down all criticism?

I thought the criticism was Disney has some kind of social agenda to not have any competent white male characters. At least, that’s the reason this edit exists.

I think the question is why would changing Hux fix that. He’s not the only white male in the film and he’s also not that incompetent (just the butt of a couple jokes).

It’s very hard to take him seriously, especially with that opening joke and with Snoke dragging him across the floor in front of his subordinates. No one seems to respect him and he doesn’t really do anything of worth, so just cutting a bit of that would make him that much stronger of a character, and perhaps even make the threat of him operating a coup against Kylo real.

Do you know what thread you are in.

I was just answering Dom’s question. I’m not that good with jokes.

This thread is a joke and I’m not sure why there’s any serious discussion in it.

I don’t know. >_>

Doesn’t do anything of worth except track the Resistance through hyperspace and then run them down and ultimately destroy half of their escaping transports?

It’s not clear that Hux did anything to influence those events. If the tracking tech was there anyway, anyone could have done it. The Resistance would have escaped had it not been for DJ anyway. I’m not convinced Hux played an important role there besides being a figurehead. With a re-edit, Hux would know this and crave more power, the tension is there in a few scenes but I don’t think they went as far as they could have. The point is, sure, Hux did things, but Hux as a character isn’t all that much.

Anyway, my point was that it’s still not clear what any of that has to do with “gender equalizing.”

Not so much that, but what I was saying before, the spark that created these edits was the perception that the guys aren’t very capable. They go about trying to fix this perception in a sexist way by making the females weak when all I’m saying is you cut a bit of Hux being a doofus and there you go.

I wish I didn’t stutter on every word around strangers.

I know it’s frustrating for the stuttering speaker, but it can be very charming to the listener.
Unless it’s literally every word… If that’s the case, that’s rough, man. Maybe think about seeing some kind of a speaking coach? I’m sure there’s the equivalent of such a thing.

I think it’s crippling social anxiety, not something a speaking coach could fix.
