As someone who lives in the desert, the bright desert shots don’t bother me at all. It’s always too damned bright out here! 😃 Now, if that was the original intended look or not, I couldn’t tell you.
If you look at the lines in Owen’s shirt, they have a bit of a purplish cast in this shot. Might want to lose that if possible.

Especially in the Lars Homestead scene, you’ll also want to correct for too much magenta. Look at the shadow detail in Lars outfit. It looks purplish. Amazing how badly the people responsible for this transfer botched everything!

ott, was any recoding required with UncropMKV? Sounds like it could be the perfect tool if not!
I tried playing around with doing an edit in Sony Vegas with 6.1 audio but was disappointed as it wouldn't seem to allow me to do 24 bit audio, only 16 bit. Not a huge, huge deal, but was a bit disappointed. Granted, maybe there is a way to do it; I just couldn't figure out how to at the time.
As always, I'll give another gentle nudge that you should go for DTS Master Audio. Yes, I'm aware that some of the audio sources used may not be of that quality, but why not go lossless off of whatever you are working on, especially when doing a Blu-Ray version? Just my two cents. :)
Does it take up much space to simply encode the black bars on your re-encodes kk650? If you did, both Blu-Ray users and people playing the MKVs on your computer could both be happy. Not really a fan of having to re-encode your files to get something I can play off disk at a possible loss of quality.
The files were encoded without the black bars so they won't play back properly burned to Blu-Ray without re-encoding, which may or may not degrade the quality a bit. I believe these are intended primarily for people using PCs for playback.
I'm not really sure why today anyone would want to bother with a highly compressed DVD-9 of an HD file. BD burners are really pretty cheap these days and 25 gig Blu-Ray media isn't that pricy. This isn't like 2006 when prices were astronomical. Not knocking anyone, just saying...

kk650, do you know of a way I can play any of your encodes on a BD-ROM without re-encoding to account for the black bars not being encoded on your files? I assume you are just watching these on a PC? Would prefer not to re-encode your great work and risk lowering the quality. I typically max out the bitrate on any re-encodes, but still....
I have to admit, a good majority of the 3D conversions I've seen after a while I barely notice anything's even in 3D.
So far, the titles to beat in 3D have been Avatar, Prometheus, Guardians of the Galaxy and Mad Max: Fury Road. Everything else I've seen hasn't quite blown me away.
Will definitely contribute to keeping the seedbox going in a couple of months. I am in mad love with the Blu-Torrents site.
