May I also have a link to your hard work please? The controversy surrounding this film has always been fascinating to me…

I too would love a link, yes please… 😊
Wow, I’ve only just started on Season 3 and the series is already finished?! I’ll watch through the Season before coming to your edits of course which I’m excited to check out, so in the meantime, may I ask for a link too please? It will also help refresh my memory watching your earlier films before delving into the final season too… 😊
May I also have a link to this greatness please… 😊
Count me in too! 😊
My current go to is the Chris Hartgrove Trilogy he edited a few years back. He even created Theatrical and Extended versions too which he has videos explaining his edits on YouTube. My only issue with the Maple Films Edit is not only the one film format but how he also didn’t include The Enchanted River scene which Chris, did.
Overall though, your edit does intrigue me, Stromboli. I too would like a link when you have the time…
I get more satisfaction with them criticising Kurtzman Star Trek than anything these days…
I thought even if Kenobi ‘did’ refer to him as Anakin, what if copying and pasting Vader’s line from RotJ about ‘that name no longer having any meaning to me’ as a response to Obi-Wan maybe could fuel his anger even more while also adding more dialogue to the duel?
Then there’s also the second time Ben calls him Darth. It’s not like Vader will go into a fit of rage like his grandson… 😂
Nice work as always, Ady. I’ll be watching this (and possibly ANHR too) on my Home Theatre tonight! Pretty cool that you’ve created separate audio tracks for Jason Wingreen and Temuera Morrison too which I’ll be looking forward to in time. 😁👍
I’ll donate something to you on the next payday, mate…
And regarding Boba’s “death.”
I believe it still can look effective. We don’t need to see him escape the Sarlaac, do we? Or maybe just a little hint that he did escape… 😉
Boba flies high above the Great Pit of Carkoon and prepares to unleash a dizzying array of missile-based weaponry from his armor. His targeting system locks on to Luke, Han, R2, Lando, even Leia and C-3PO. He looks at Luke. “For my father…Jedi.” he growls in an Australian accent. Suddenly a tentacle shoots out of the Sarlacc beak, ensnaring the formidable bounty-hunter. He turns his attention to the menace beneath him, but his weapons can’t get a lock. He fires missiles at the Sarlacc but they go wide and he is dragged down into the depths.
Luke stares at the pit as a deep rumbling is heard. He races to the other side of the barge, Leia in tow. “Let’s go, and don’t forget the droids!” He shouts, swinging to freedom. Behind them the pit ignites in a fireball of Mandalorian glory, engulfing the sail barge and sending Jabba’s crime syndicate into the stratosphere.
Australian accent?! 🧐🤯
Indeed! Intrigued to see where the Bad Batch goes from here… 😊
I wish that all the Clone Wars arcs could be officially watched this way. Animation would need to be re-rendered and touched up especially taking some of the earlier episodes and later ones which may stick out, much like certain Season 3 episodes that are set earlier in the timeline.
May never happen though…
Hmm, an updated version I hear? I wonder which version I have… 🤔
Now one thing I would love is if Sam Witwer could recite Maul’s lines in this film. Only a pipe-dream though. 😂
Hey, been away a long time…
Hal, digging all the changes so far. Looking forward to seeing this edit.
While refraining from posting TRoS spoilers on Adywan’s ANHR thread, I’d like to see Alderaan destroyed kinda like how we saw the planetary destruction of Kijimi.
Ady, are you happy with the original look of the binary sunset? I’m actually talking about the suns in general. Latter films seem to change the look as if to make them look more epic or maybe, more realistic? Lucas spaced them further apart in ROTS, for example.
Just my $0.02.
The shot of the X-wings approaching the Death Star before everyone checks in is easily the worst SE update to the sequence. The extended shot of the ship models gliding across the screen looks less convincing than other, more dynamic shots elsewhere, and the R2 units look incorrect.
I wonder if it’d be feasible or desirable to create two more subtle shots using CG to approximate the two in the original version.
Way I’m thinking right now is maybe the shot could begin with the X-Wings approaching as we see them from the front, and then Red Leader begins conducting his roll call. Once all have responded could we follow up with the squadron as we see the second original shot from behind. How could that work without affecting the soundtrack?!
Deleted…
Shortland Street 😃 A refreshing change from the main awful Aussie soaps on UK tv at the time - well in the Kiwis / Vowel Manglers 😉
I remember seeing Tem for the first time on a short-lived TV series in NZ called Gloss. Another Kiwi in this forum (living in Australia, funnily enough)… 😉
And I still get a laugh out of Tem sounding like a Pakistani in the Martin Campbell directed Vertical Limit which starred Chris O’Donnell, Scott Glenn and the late Bill Paxton. Also recall the Harrison Ford and Anne Heche film Six Days, Seven Nights set in Tahiti where Tem, Cliff Curtis and Danny Trejo were playing pirates and seeing Tem and Cliff speaking Maori to each other had me wondering did Machete even understand what they were saying?! 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Adam, may I congratulate you (and also Hal9000 for some of the heavy liftings) on such an amazing achievement!! Watching over this movie again (despite the haters), it’s really not as bad as what they say. I enjoyed it the first time I saw it and in light of the problems, trimming down so many unnecessary moments really made this a stronger offering. I’ll get round to Hal’s “Legendary” edit too someday but for now, I’ll be watching this over and over. Bravo, sir!
P.S. - I actually have no issues with Luke’s smirk drinking scene but it’s no biggie really. Well done!! 😃
So now that Solo is out, is there anything from it that may influence this edit?
Just watching ESBR at the moment and it does irk me a little that Leia said his name like Lando always does not to mention Threepio on one occasion. Maybe an audio snippet of how she normally pronounces his name should have been spliced over her odd pronunciation…
P.S. - is it still too early for spoilers?
Yes - far too early mate.
No spoilers in here, or anywhere outside the 3 ‘Solo spoiler threads’, linked to here:-
Thanks.
LOL, fair enough. 😃

You really want to see the ghost in return of the Jedi? Well, pause this frame:
Be happy.
I’m down for a Rogue One-esque cameo during the Battle of Endor and I actually wouldn’t mind Ady hiring an extra dressed up as Hera for the Home One briefing. Now if only Dodonna and Riekkan could have been present in some capacity. Lucas really dropped the ball there.
So I’m currently reading The Princess, the Scoundrel and the Farm Boy and it got me thinking of a couple things that could be introduced into the movie. During the chapter where Alderaan has just been disintegrated, there was a description of planetary debris drifting past the Death Star, but in a molten form. I’ll go back into the book and get the exact description.
And atm I’m reading through Han’s arc and at that moment where the Falcon comes out of hyperspace, there was a mention of them avoiding the remains of Alderaan’s demise - as if we could actually see the Falcon weaving around a few fragments.
I’m sure the book has been referred to as canon now.
