This is why franchises exist…unlike standalone (I mean real standalone movies not, not franchise movies like R1) movies, they don’t have to do well based on their story or audience enjoyment. They do well based on the franchise they are based apart of. There is only one requirement: it must be decently made. And its never going to not be, because the studio will put lots of money into it.
This is the power of the franchise.
