Wow. Amazing work.
Wow. Amazing work.
I have to say sorry for the inconvience,
The render had gone fine, but upon my sixth (and as i thought, final) rendering I had forgotten to remove 40 frames of footage that was on top of another piece of footage. This occured at the very climax of the film.
Hehe, happy to help!
TFA: 10/10 when you remove that footage overlap. This is the very first time I’ve not gotten bored or tired watching The Force Awakens. And the new opening is stunning. I loved the opening shots.
TLJ: 9/10. I still wished there were more of the Canto Bight removed, but I think you had to keep all the shots you have so I don’t know what you could’ve done different to be fair. I loved all the edits you pulled of and the movie runs at a very brisk pace. The Luke & R2d2 scene followed by Luke saving Leia was spot on.
Simply loved it!

An excellent showcase of what you so seek.

Hello, guys. I’ve merely been lurking around in the shadows on this forum and can introduce myself first:
My name is Jukan (Icelandic) and I work as a movie editor and have been for eleven years. I grew up with Star Wars along with other big movie franchises of the time and love the process behind all of it as well as the community-driven discussions after its release(s).
What has not been said? The movie has some major flaws, and the first change i bring to the table that i would like to showcase is probably the most controversial one; Luke’s tossing of the saber.

One of the most important things I’ve learned to utilize as an editor is when to use music, how to use it - and when not to. In this case it is very much a welcome addition and a great oppurtunity to show Luke’s inner turmoil as we go from a washed-out Vader’s Theme (his father’s saber, lots of pain and agony comes with it) and onto a slow and almost fading Force/Luke Theme (him giving the saber back).
In this second clip I’ve done some alterations to the Kylo/Luke Force projection reveal.

I might showcase some more if my changes are a welcome addition to the fanediting community. Have a great day!

Okay, holy shit? how did you even do this? Watched it and loved it! Going to see it again now!
Will you do more versions?
Looks very good!
Consider me thrilled beyond belief! This is like the A New Hope Revisited, but for the prequel trilogy.
I hope you’ll release this, man!
Dude! This has everything i wished for in the prequels. Mystery, villainy, suspense, and pace!
This looks so promising! I hope you finish it and you should!
