I'm currently reading Dune (talk about synchronicity!), and I don't really know what to say about it other than that it's a surprisingly easy read, I'm more-or-less halfway through it, it's fun to pick up which elements Lucas took and adapted when he went to make Star Wars, and that I'm surprised Lynch was able to make his movie as coherent as it was with so much detail from the novel jettisoned.
As with darth_ender, I'm not sure if I'm going to read any of the sequels.
I'm currently reading through DC's first Star Trek series, and I'm close to the end. All I can really say is that I enjoy the storylines, though the ones made before Star Trek IV's release are better than the ones that were made after.
Here is the total list of movies I've watched since last Wednesday. Due to the sheer amount, I won't say what it is about them I like/dislike, I'll just give them my rating (rounded off to the nearest whole number).
The Lost Boys (1987) - 8/10
Forbidden Planet (1956) - 6/10
Highlander III: The Sorcerer/The Final Dimension/etc. (1994) - 5/10
The Lion King (1994) - 9/10
The Barber (2002) - 5/10
Bringing Out the Dead (1999) - 7/10
The Blair Witch Project (1999) - 7/10
Rear Window (1954) - 5/10
The Limey (1999) - 7/10
Pet Sematary (1989) - 6/10
Children of the Corn (1984) - 7/10
Bad Boys (1983) - 7/10
The Dark Angel (1987) - 7/10
Aladdin (1992) - 8/10
Mystery Date (1991) - 6/10
Predator 2 (1990) - 6/10
Metalstorm: The Destruction of Jared-Syn (1983) - 4/10
The Shining (1980) - 6/10
The Village (2004) - 5/10
Run (1991) - 6/10
The Mask of Zorro (1998) - 8/10
The Hitcher (1986) - 7/10
Raiders of the Lost Ark (1981) - 8/10
Psycho (1960) - 8/10
The Frighteners (1996) - 8/10
Dirty Harry (1971) - 6/10
Misery (1990) - 8/10
Batman Forever (1995) - 4/10
Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom (1984) - 8/10
Suffice it to say, I won't be watch anything Batman-related with Affleck as the character.
Here are some of my favourite ghosts, real (?) and fictional, in no particular order.
I'm glad he's gone. The guy wasn't amusing in the least.
Don't let the Outer Darkness gnash your ass on the way out.
I wasn't talking about the Judeo-Christian God, you ignorant carbon-copy, but the tin god you've created out of your own image, out of your own likeness - the image and likeness of conceited, self-righteous, self-centred, holier-than-thou hypocrites.
I don't know if the Abrahamic God - or a close analogue of the Abrahamic God - exists, but I do know for certain that your small-minded god definately doesn't.
Why don't you pray for yourself, you self-righteous twit? The god you've created within your own head is more likely to answer you that way.
You wouldn't know real blasphemy if Darwin's rottweiler went up to you and bit you in your fundie rear, E.D.
The King of Kings has left the building.
I'd personally prefer to create and live in a box of my own creation, but my imagination isn't quite vivid enough for that *shrug*

I'm not going to say '97 is better than the original (it's kind of a six of one, half a dozen of the other situation), but I will say '04 is worse. Much, much, much worse.
They're scenes from that episode of the Twilight Zone where a group of astronauts find an exact duplicate of their own ship crashed on an alien planet.

I've long wondered if Vader had a spare suit stashed away somewhere? Would help explain some of the visual differences between the films.
No "Yub Nub" at the end?
Julie Newmar had a nice caboose.

As rough of a place as it can be, the world is still a pretty awesome place full of all sorts of fantastic things to look forward to. But you're bound to miss it when you spend all your free time watching 10 - 15 horror films a week.

If you don't like B&W you don't like film.
Perhaps the episode numbers should be dropped altogether.

I had a guy in mine who claimed that Darth Maul - or Darth Mon, as he called him - was Darth Vader when he was younger.

btw does anyone think theres a way the ST could fix the PT retroactively, especially in regards to the continuity problems between the PT and OT?
