Personally I don’t see why it would need to be fought. We aren’t allowed to profit from fanediting so there isn’t an issue of loss that will impact your financial stability. I get that you want your vision to be seen in the highest quality, but at the same time I have to remind myself that we are all essentially doing the same thing to the work of director’s, actors, and studios. It would be terrible if a director pulled all of their movies they made from commercial circulation to make sure no one messed with them. Many would then be forced to consider other options to get them.
You could always post a comment on the video saying something like “It’s great to see some of my fanediting in these videos!” and put time stamps and links to this thread or where ever you promote your work. You could also mention that if people want to watch the highest quality of your edits they should contact you directly. As one who’s had this happen, I view it as a non-issue, or at least one that has little to no impact on my own fanediting
