I had no problem dropping the DVD file into a burning program and having it automatically do the resizing. Shouldn’t be an issue.

Found some possible tweaks to change the speed in blender.

1. Under the frame rate option it should say “Time Remapping:” with two arrows, one says “Old:100” the other says “New:100” Adjust the values and it may change the speed.
2. Under “Frame Range” change the “Frame Step:” value

I seem to remember that the travel distance of the crawl file in blender efdwctedbthe speed as well. I’ll have to go and look at my project file to verify that though.

You could possibly adjust the speed rate of the video in your NLE.

Feels a bit jarring imho. Also the scene Rey and Finn looks spedup?

Hmmm, I honestly think that perhaps you’re thinking about it too much. Chewie owes a life debt to Han, blowing him up doesn’t help him in fulfilling that debt. Also, I don’t see him knowing how much time is left. I’m fine with him delaying. He was in Wookie Rage mode.

As to the Chewie and oscillator thing, didn’t they establish that the weapon will be crippled if the oscillator blows? You could have him blow it simultaneously. Have the weapon fire, Chewie blows it up and blasts the troops as they escape then have it follow the shot to Hosnian.

It would be nerdtastic fun to do a live stream collaborative editing session with all of you. I’d love to watch how you all go about your fiddling on your NLE’s 😃

To be honest, I think you should axe the girl looking at towards the screen left. She almost looks concerned, like she is a spy or something. I think the scene would benefit from a colder operator shot.

I’ve never really been on board with the restructure idea, but after seeing this, I’m pretty much sold. Looks like I’ll be trying out a hybrid of my own with this project when this is finished.

There were some noticeable slowed down scenes during some of the resistance faces. Your Leia interpretation is exactly how I felt watching this. The Hosian sequence is perhaps a bit too long? The X-wing shots when the Star Killer fires are superbly done. I did watch this all on a phone without headphones, so I’ll be back to with more after that.

I never was able to get the logo zoom out to work on the revisited project file. Was that not included or was my system apparently wonky?

Also, I’m hoping it’s ok to let everyone know that a vegas project file was added to the custom crawl creator I had created some time ago.

Personally, I think the mystery adds to the story. Too much explanation = the prequels.

Looks like someone had the same ideas I had. While this is pretty rough, I think it could achieve the merge idea.

It’ll be interesting to see how it turns out. I think this approach lends towards those who want to merge the films. Seeing your other work, I’d not be surprised if we see a mapleized merged edit by some other editors.

I’ve fixed the variable frame rate issues I was having and also decided after some great feedback from those who held out for the release and those who have been contributing all along, to do a small revision to the edit. Audio levels for the rebuilt surround tracks during the Falcon escape and Takodana have been reworked to smooth out the mix. Also, sharpness filters have been added to some cropped scenes (Ren on the Falcon & interrogation scene) as suggested. The interrogation also received a trim to deal with the source material issues that many commented about. I won’t be addressing the hologram scan line differentiation at this time. I’ve also removed the Blu Ray option, for now. PM if you’d like to have Heir to the Force v1.1.

^this has been the one issue I’ve head with revisited. I L ways have felt that it paints Obi-Wan’s character incorrectly.

Please don’t confuse processing for rudeness or indifference. A video is easy to glance at, but digesting your posts, which are quite lengthy, and responding to them requires time.

Now that I’ve had the time to see, read and analyze I have a response.

Honestly it didn’t work for me. The idea feels too inferential. We’d need to see and/or hear more. Interesting idea though.

I’d love to see what you do with Bala-tik. He’s probably my least favorite character in the entire movie. I couldn’t come up with an idea on how to transition from the falcon to Snoke smoothly. He’ll be going in v2 of my edit if possible.
