Episode V: The Ridiculousness Strikes Back

When Luke is in the cave on Dagobah, do cutaways to the idol temple from Raiders to make it appear he’s walking around in there. Maybe even use the music from Raiders?

Also, Vader’s mask explodes to reveal Jar Jar’s face.

If the cave is gonna be from Indy, I’d rather it be Beloch in the mask, with his insane laughter mixed into the soundtrack.

Okay, this has been bugging me for a while. A Hong Kong film about a ‘renegade’ Hong Kong cop, on the trail of either a drug lord or a gang lord. He’s about to catch him when the bad guy goes over the border to China. This requires the cop to go over and abide by the rules of the mainland. He is partnered with a Chinese cop who does things ‘by the book’. All I remember is a scene of the cop sleeping over night in the station, on one of those uncomfortable looking benches, and it was made in the 90’s.

Sounds like Supercop with Jackie Chan. The original HK title is Police Story 3.

No. Although, watching the trailer has reminded me (er… don’t know how) that the lead wore a leather jacket, I think he also had a goatee. Also, the movie was played as part of a Hong Kong movie season which featured the Police Story movies. I believe Supercop had it’s British T.V. debut during the same season.

After much searching, I found it! It was Rock n’ roll Cop, by Kirk Wong. Unfortunately, I can only find a laserdisc transfer of it, and the quality is shocking bad. Shame, 'cause it’s a good movie.

Abyss in HD?

And that will delay ESB for another FIVE YEARS while he figures out how to make it happen. The effects shots will need to be redone, of course, to make sure they’re integrally teal and can’t be altered by anyone.

REM is incredible.

These are all the REM albums I own, other than Monster (which I forgot to post).

Monster is their best album! Most REM fans I meet harshly disagree, but for me it’s the best by a long distance.

Yes! Well, I wouldn’t say it’s their best, for me personally that’s Automatic. But Monster is hideously underrated, especially by their fans.

Awesome. I just looked at that legends entry. Good to see one of his episode I books is entitled “I Am A Pilot”. I wonder if it’s an autobiography…

So, did YHWX ever explain why file types extensions in file names are wrong? Other than he doesn’t personally like them, I mean. Something was said about how it was wrong on a technical level, but I never really saw anything that explained why. Just curious.

It was suggested earlier to lose the force line. Please don’t lose the force line, that’s genuine lols, as is the tracking bit. I do however agree that it could be shortened.

The ignore button can’t come back soon enough. Mostly I find Frink to be alright, there are times that I genuinely find him funny. The binary thing wasn’t even slightly amusing at the start, now it’s the worst.

Definitely Independence Day. Not 'cause it’ll be good, in fact I’m hoping it sucks as much as the first one. Jeff looks to be fully Goldblumming, and young Will Smith is looking and sounding ‘fresh’. Also the President is back, as is Data, even though he died in the first one. The more I think about it, the more I think I’m gonna like it. Devlin and Emmerich for the win!

We follow standard imperial procedure for infiltrating potentially hostile planets.

  1. First we send in the real nerds, the Forlorn hope, in a scouting mission.
  2. If they do not come back, we can assume they all fell asleep and the movie is awful
  3. If they do come back, we read and listen to their reports.
  4. If it is good, we go in full force.
  5. If it is bad, we spend the next twenty years sniping at George Lucas and J.J. Abrams from the rooftops and the forums.

I’d rather nuke first and ask questions later.

I think that decision is Corporal Hicks’. Since, you know, this is a Military operation.

I would like to repeat Jettrell Fo's sentiments, and just say it has been an honor to watch the process. Just to add, thank god this film is now safe. Sure, I'd love to see it, hopefully that will happen, but you have done a service to film preservation, Sir. And that story about your son is awesome cool.
