Episode IX: The Rise Of Skywalker - Discussion * SPOILER THREAD *
Time

TavorX said:

The only true trustworthy spoiler source for TROS is RedLetterMedia. According to them, we will get time travel and it will get Endgame treatment!

No. I promise you that is not the movie.

What appears to be going around is two spoiler reports.

One is from that Jason guy at Making StarWars. The second is from a guy at Reddit going by name JediPaxis.

Quite a bit of what J/MSW posted seems to match up to an old 4Chan link from quite some time ago.

Then this JediPaxis posted his spoiler report. A lot of it matches up to the J/MSW report, but there are differences. Some of those differences are big.

An OriginalTrilogy.com Timeline | a history of the site | the why & how it came to be...
Time

The good news is that we will get a home release of the OUT one day.

Disney would be fools not to do it.

The time will come.

Personally, what I’d like to see is the original workprint of A New Hope as revealed and reviewed in Star Wars Insider #41, the so-called Lost Cut.

I’d kill to see/have that thing.

EDIT: I didn’t know we had threads about it here. Cool.

Rian Johnson to Head New Star Wars Trilogy
Time

Johnson’s trilogy will never happen. Disney is not that stupid.

This guy has completely polarized the fanbase like no other.

It’s worse than the backlash against the PT and Abrams hiring combined.

Movies are done for the time being after TROS.

They have high hopes for The Mandalorian and the Obi-Wan series. They are less sure about the Cassian series.

And they know fans want more Clone Wars.

As far as Star Wars being bigger than ever, well, that is b.s.

Solo was a colossal flop mostly due to TLJ backlash.
Toy and EU merchandise money is way down.
Galaxy’s Edge is not going as well as they initially hoped.
And they are worried about TROS. They feel like they have lost a sizable chunk of the fanbase forever.

Trust me. I am in this world and I own a ton of Disney stock. I specialize in currency arbitrage, but I know the common stock and commodities markets just as well. In fact, Disney is under suspicion for lying about their profits.

If anything, they will go with those Game of Thrones guys for any future movies. At some point, we will wake up to find that Disney and Johnson have parted company.

Episode VIII : The Last Jedi - Discussion * SPOILER THREAD *
Time

I’m still trying to figure out why Luke, if he wanted to be left to die, and wanted the Jedi to end, goes to the planet where there is a Force tree, and where the first Jedi Temple set up shop.

How in the hell does that make any sense?

And who gave Tekka that piece of the map?
And why let R2-D2 have the rest of the map if he didn’t want to be found?

Just poor plot devices to drive a poor narrative forward.

The whole thing is an utter mess of nonsense starting with The Force Awakens.

Episode IX: The Rise Of Skywalker - Discussion * SPOILER THREAD *

I don’t quite understand this thread?

Is this a spoiler thread?

It seems more like a speculation thread.

Just about everything is out now.

There are two spoiler reports. One from the guy at MakingStarWars and one from a guy calling himself JediPaxis.
They are quite similar, but there are a few very big differences coming from JediPaxis that will cause major problems within the fandom. MAJOR. HUGE.

It may even make Rian Johnson less loathed by putting Abrams in that seat.

Personally, I loathe both, so it doesn’t really matter.

Understandable, and I think Adywan is on the same page as you for ANH:R:HD. I might just do my own version of the audio track with the March inserted for myself.

It’s not that I don’t think it fits - the imperial march fits perfectly imo for the Death Star reveal - but it takes away from the first time we hear it in ESB.

Regarding Battle of the Heroes, I don’t really think it fits at all.

Yeah, but what would be the problem with making it optional for those that have liked and been used to it from the original Revisited release?

An audio option in the menu.

and it’s not just the Imperial March and Battle of the Heroes.

There is some music playing in the first Tarkin scene. It sounds like The Emperor’s Throne Room.

I feel like the music playing softly in the background adds to that scene immensely.

A 720p HD version will be coming out around 2016 after ROTJ:R is finished.

There will be some differences because i can’t recreate it 100% faithfully but it will be as close as possible. But i won’t be taking any suggestions for changes/ fixes for the HD version

Planned differences so far between the original and HD version of ANH:R

1 - No prequel music during the lightsaber duel
2 - No “lightsaber” effect on the torture droid needle
3 - Altered Mos Eisley entrance ( no mirrored stormtroopers and shorter intro)
4 - Final shot of Tarkin reinstated
5 - Spinning hyperspace jump starfield reinstated

Ady,

We are no longer getting the option of choosing yes or no to prequel music in the menu?

What about restoring the close-up of Threepio’s reaction to Artoo being shot by Vader’s Tie Fighter?

Star Wars: The Lost Cut Reconstruction Project (* unfinished project *)
Time

My hope is that Lucas had to turn this over to Disney when he sold the company, and that they will release it someday.

It could happen.

The Blade Runner workprint was officially released in that giant suitcase set.

Wouldn’t it be great to get the OUT with the workprint, a doc about the workprint, and whatever Lucas had left in the vault on one awesome Blu-ray (and maybe 4K) set?

STAR WARS: EP V "REVISITED EDITION"ADYWAN - 12GB 1080p MP4 VERSION AVAILABLE NOW
Time

Is anyone keeping track of any boo-boos found so far so that Ady doesn’t have to search the whole thread?

I haven’t see it yet, but I saw some posts elsewhere that was saying the volume was going high to low in scene between Ozzel and Piett and some scenes between Leia and Han on the Millennium Falcon.

Any one else notice this, or is it b.s.?

The argument for it being Scarif is weak.

A better argument could be made for the Endor moon being the remote location for the construction of both battle stations.

Put Endor below the Death Star in ANH:R.

Think about it.

Remember the criticism back in the day about how did the ewoks seem so prepared to fight the Empire’s troops so quickly?

The whole thing about how did they prepare those tree/log weapons so fast?

It was generally dismissed as “Well, it’s just a movie. Yeah, it is an obvious blooper, but so what. Let it go.”

Well, if Endor was the location for both construction projects, it would be easy to assume/see that the ewoks had/have become angry with this invasion of their home/territory over the many years.

The idea would be that the ewoks alone were planning an attack on the base long before the events in Return of the Jedi. The arriving rebels just added more numbers (troops) to their plan. The capture of the small rebel force made the ewoks finally put their plan into action.

It’s obvious that the Empire would dismiss the indigenous ewoks as nothing more than meaningless creatures that were no threat to their incursion, newly constructed base and shield generator.

In fact, back in the day when I was going to rewrite the prequels, I was going to make some changes to the OT as well. This was one of my ideas.

The special features DVD-5 is only needed for mkv and DVD versions as all these extras will feature on the single Blu-ray.

The Death Star has lightspeed travel.

Not necessarily.

Whaaaaaat?

Of course it has lightspeed travel.

What are you thinking?

Do you know how long it would take to get from the Alderaan system to the Yavin system without hyperspace travel?

It is moving around at lightspeed throughout Rogue One.

Rogue One ends just 20 minutes before Star Wars. Why would the Death Star return back to where it was built.

I gave you the reasons why.

And if Scarif is so important here, why is it that when we first see the Death Star in ANH, it is just sitting out in empty space?

This is one of the changes that Adywan made that everybody loved.

We continue to hear that the Death Star is not yet fully operational and yet it is just sitting out in empty space in some star system unprotected.

A major writing boner that Adywan fixed.

Right up to the last minute, officers, troops, weapons, ships and supplies are being routed to the battle station.

Not necessarily.

Rogue One does cause problems for ANH in the sense that they keep claiming that the Death Star is not yet “fully” operational.

The Death Star has lightspeed travel.

And the fully operational glitch can be corrected/explained away by stating that the Death Star went back to home base to take on more troops, ships (Ties and possibly a couple of Star Destroyers), other supplies, etc.

Just because the weapon was ready doesn’t mean that everything that was required for day-to-day operation of the battle station was ready/done.

Also, what Ady did for ANH:R would make no sense with all the activity buzzing around since the entire base on Scarif was destroyed by the Death Star. All the troops, officers and equipment gone.

My take is that the Death Star went into hyperspace and back to home base probably as soon as Darth Vader began pursuing the Tantive IV in the Devastator.

Any chances you will update planet by Death Star to match RO’s Scarif? Maybe debri from the two star destroyers. Just a thought.

Why update planet below Death Star in ANH:R to match Rogue One’s Scarif?

Scarif is not the planet where the Death Star was built.
