I can send out 3 or 4 copies (NTSC) so PM me as well.
You must promise to "re-weed/seed" some copies to others here or elsewhere!

I hope you'll be able to get the NTSC version, because you'll have to reencode the video and resample/reencode the audio otherwise, and although it's all digital I'd prefer it if everyone got "same generation" copies.

Ok I wasn't sure if you had done an NTSC version since you are in England right?! But if you did and sent them to the US
folks and I can get one from them then yea that's preferable!

[edit]
Actually it occurs to me that if you send the US folks a PAL format we can play it on the computer
but also I can convert it for myself but redistribute it as PAL to others to retain the generation
and then they can do what they want with it for themselves.

Yes PM me about getting a copy also. I can help distribute it on usenet
or myspleen etc. Thanks! (I'm in the US. If the format is PAL I will convert it

[edit]
By the way I think I had PM in my profile turned off and I turned it on as
I'm used to boards where it is on by default! So if you tried and
couldnt get thru please try again! thanks!

Torrents for little noobs like me?!?
Time
Yes the ports thing may be it. I had opened about 11 ports as instructed in the doc I read but not up to
6999 so I can try that but if the others don't have it open then what can I do?
It looks like it is .75 seeded and 1 is supposed to be a good ratio?
But is .75 good enough?

It looks like for a long time my upload rate was 3 times my dl rate but now at 35% it seems to
have shifted so my dl rate is twice the ul rate so I'm getting more now. The doc says bittorrent works
something to this effect but doesnt say at what point this occurs. After I get it hopefully when I get it
I will leave it up and seeded for a few days before going for the next TR47 version.

thanks!

[edit]
I found the stats for the torrent on myspleen and under my username it says it cant find
the port even though I had opened them before I started it. Maybe I'm not opening them
correctly. I also just put the ip of my pc in the dmz and that should eliminate any need to port
foward right?! However Ill have to wait and see when and if the myspleen stats page is
updated cause I hit refresh but it doesnt have updated info that fast. . . .

[edit 2]
I couldnt get the damn port forwarding working no matter what I tried (linksys/win2k)
so I removed the router and now its working great.

Glad you’re around to tell us these things. Chewie, take the professor out back and beat the shit out of him.

Yea but look at all the nit picky discussion that ensued!!!
We know know now, those of us that did not know before, that it was not cgi but an
actor, and perhaps an actor in a mask. Or a very bad facelift!

Hi. How long do these torrents usually take to download?
I have verizon dsl at the new higher speeds in the US.
I never used bittorrent before and set it up (the original BT client) and am using myspleen cause I'm
too cheap (poor!) to pay for one of those pay sites. I'm dl TR47 and it's saying
it will take 2 days! Does it usually take that long?
I read all the documentation though not sure I understand it all.
I checked my stats and its says I've uploaded almost twice as much as
I've downloaded.
This is why I like usenet better cause it's way faster! And I've uploaded boatloads of stuff to
usenet groups in thanks for all I've downloaded from there too!

Natalie Portman Goes CUEBALL!!!!!!!!!

Forget THX1138 prequal, after seeing her with that haircut with George I was thinking
THX1138 REMAKE!

Anyway as far as the thought behind the profanity, I don't know if any ever listened to the
National Lampoon recordings from the 70s, but there is a famous one with Bill
Murray as an announcer for the olympics.
He and another person are doing a play by play of Nadia Cominiche doing gymnastics
and then out of nowhere Bill exclaims: "Boy I'd like to F her!" Oh my lord it's a CLASSIC!!!!

6 DVD Box Set for this November
Time
The continual release of "true" and "final" editions every year or so with more and more
"upgrades" is gettin to be rigodamndiculous!

Luca$ should just reshoot Ep4 and 5 over again with new actors and effects and be done with it!!!!
THEN he can move on to making eps 7, 8, and 9.

Oh wait there won't be a 7, 8, and 9. He'll be too busy releasing new definitive box set editions
of the prior 6 with effects and scenes upgrades for the next 10 years!

This is the pre-2004 Emperor as he appeared in ESB... This is the 2004 DVD edition...

AHA! Thanks for that! Now I get it. And see it!

I was about 15 or 16 when SW came out and so I have on the one hand a desire to have
the original versions as I saw them in the movies.

On the other hand though, I do want to at least rent the newer versions just to see what
they did out of curiosity.
I saw the first SW SE in the theature back in 97 when it came out but I didnt bother going
to see the other two.

And soon starting in 2006 I think they are all being rereleased in Imax 3D!
I certainly won't miss that!
But I would guess that the Imax ANH will be the newer 2004 edition as will
all the others as well.

Also, anyone notice that he addressed that one officer as "Captain Antilles" whom Vader kills at the start of ANH and who Threepio says was "Our Last Master"

No but I did notice that the ship was the one that they are on at the start of ANH.
I'm watching ANH now and will see Sith again later in the week so I will keep an eye out for these
items.
Also in the closing scene of Sith where both Darth's are looking out at the Death Star, you can see a figure
that looks like Grand Moff Tarkin (Peter Cushing) by the window. I think it's a cgi bit though
since Cushing is dead.

Which did you prefer, the SE or the 2004 DVD edition?

Something weird happened to me just about the time those DVDs came out.
For some strange reason I just stopped caring about what George Lucas does to these movies. I think something snapped in my head. It's like one day I woke up and just went "OK I’m not going to fight it anymore."

I would say you succumbed to the DARK SIDE!!!!! ;-P

All the actors who played the Emperor???
Time
Hi. I'm trying to figure out who played the Emperor in the different movies, originals and SE etc.

I looked on IMDB and found the following:

Star Wars (Ep 4): no entry for Emperor
ESB: Clive Revill but only as the voice. Well if he was the voice who was the human?!
ROTJ: Ian McDiarmid Really?!?!?! Or was that one of the edits?

I don't need to list for Ep1 and 2 cause we know it was Ian McDiarmid.
I'm just wondering if Ian was the actor who played the emperor in Eps 4 and 5 and was it really him in 6?!

Thanks!

Original on e-bay
Time
Hi. I found this site after reading some reviews of the new (2004) original trilogy release on buy.com.
I recently saw Sith and wanted to see the originals again and then found out that you can't
really get the originals on dvd. You can buy tapes on ebay from 1995 or so which are more or less the originals.
Anyway I looked on ebay and decided to risk it and bought a set of 3 dvds claiming to be more or
less the originals and not the 1997 SE. I got them today and am very pleased with them. I paid $30 with
shipping.
They look like Asian releases but are in NTSC, THX, widescreen and english and have professional covers not anything
homemade. There is no menu, extras or anything but I dont care. I believe this is a legitimate asian release
from 1994 or something. The video quality is excellent so I believe it not just a transfer from a video
but an actual transfer/remaster from film.

I would say if you look on ebay just be careful about reading what you are buying and the feedback
of the seller. I just looked on there and someone is selling some Asian dvd releases in a 5 dvd set.
They look like what I bought but with the last two movies as well. If you dont see anything you like
just wait and watch until you do!
