The latest version of the vane clip is great, although I agree that the marker lights could be toned down a notch (just slightly less intense, they stand out a bit). Fantastic job, otherwise, though!
The user account you're using is a local admin equivalent? With UAC totally disabled and using a local admin account, you shouldn't be getting any useage permission issues...

Yup, just hit the state button and type "uac", the user access controls should come up. Move the slider all the way to off or whatever.

I’ll keep trying to come up with other alternatives. What are acceptable audio sources for the Emperor’s voice? Musical Journey has been ruled out. How about ROTS and ROTJ?

That's a perspective issue. The camera placement is right next to the SD in the foreground, with the two in the background much further away, nothing wrong with the placement in either this shot or Ady's fixed sequence.

Dude, just... no. In ESB, Luke is still a rookie, and his fight with Vader shows that he's greatly unmatched at this point. Making it into some gradious battle just wouldn't make sense. Maybe by the end of ROTJ, but not at this point. Gotta keep it simple; the way it was originally is perfect.
I'm still in employment limbo at the moment, but once that's done I should be able to help out "a bit" with donations. In the mean time, Ady, I suggest you actually make good on your intentions of taking a break :D
