Not cool guys, you should create a Cloverfield spoiler thread.

Can I please get a PM?
Are you on the left?
LOL!
You stole my joke.
You should sue him.
So, um, what did people think of the trailer?
Based solely on the trailer (of course) I’m sold on Lando and not sold on Han. But like Frink said, pretty irrelevant. Liked the cinematography and aesthetics though.
I think one of my biggest problems with Ehrenreich’s Han is his hair. I just need to remember he’s younger, therefore the different/longer hair. Weird thing is that I don’t seem to have that problem with Glover’s Lando.

No, I don’t think, you understand how the laws of physics work.I work in the space sector and in fact I credit seeing Star Wars at a young age as being the catalyst for that interest. So I assure you my understanding of physics is fine, albeit entirely unnecessary for an appreciation of Star Wars.
I don’t want to turn today into another episode of “The Dre Show” so suffice to say that this discussion has already happened, and you have already been given many sound and sensible reasons. If you’ve forgotten them already then I would suggest you read back through the thread for your answers.
If you don’t want today to turn into “The DrDre Show”…
How about “The Eminem Show”? That’s a good one.
Maybe Holdo was the first person to think up the kamakizee lightspeed attack. As others have pointed out kamakizee is only useful in certain situations, it makes sense no one would have thought of it until now. They did say she was a brilliant general, and Poe + Hux (both experienced in the military) are confused when she turns the ship around.
Heck, Anakin in a The Clone Wars episode crashes a Republic Cruiser into a Sepratist blockade, almost sacrificing himself.
Most Barneys didn’t load for me this time… maybe it’s because I’m on the iPad, but they usually load.
Plot twist!

I did not see this coming. A bit of a shame too, in terms of OOT. In terms of monopolies, I guess it’s a good thing? I don’t know.
I kind of have this weird feeling lately. New town, new job in the last 9 months. I know lots of people here (old acquaintances from college, past jobs, and my current job) and spend lots of time with other people, but I’ve still been feeling kind of lonely lately. My close friends and family live hundreds of miles away, and I haven’t been able to form any intimate friendships here; I like the people plenty, and socialize outside work, but we’re just not alike in the right ways to feel any real connection.
Me in a nutshell. Only difference is that I don’t socialize out of school or even at the school, so I’m basically lonely 24/7. But things will get better.

^ interesting concept and some decent ideas - enjoyed that…
Loved it!
Speaking of fan films, this one is absolutely fantastic: https://youtu.be/Rt9l7WdHEZ0
It’s one of the most well known ones, so it might have already been shared, but there you go.
Take it to the NFL thread.
Lol!
Why do people on live streams and on fourm sites including this one ask for mod.
I don’t have any idea what this means.
I am asking why do people ask for mod
This does not clarify things.
He wants to know why some people keep asking to be moderators (even though I’ve never seen this here).

I thought we’d left this 1950s mentality behind long ago.
Check out “TLJ De-Feminized”.
I’m not even sure we’ll get a trailer at all.
But trailers are designed to maximise the hype, and presumably this was the best they could do in terms of crowd pleasing sound bites even after all the delays.
Well I haven’t seen it but I’m electing to defend it regardless!
FTFY
You will never see me say that a trailer proves a performance will be bad or “wrong.” I just on principle don’t think it’s a fair indication.
As it should be, frankly.
No one is going to do a bang up impersonation of another actor and still be effective in the role because more times than not it comes off half baked.
I am quite happy to let this movie entertain me…or not but it won’t be due to the title actor not being able to sound like Harrison Ford but whether the movie as a whole is something I like.
Btw does that guy really look like Lando either? Doesn’t to me but that’s OK.
Glover is definitely more Lando than Ehrenreich is Solo.
I don’t see it…Glover doesn’t say anything. The only thing I saw that was Lando was the cape and that one smile.
It convinced me more than the smile from Ehrenreich from the TV spot.
Ok so I’ve gotten to the very well thought out conclusion that Trump is not a decent man at all.
It’s once that unpleasantness crosses the line into demonstrating that you are disconnected from any sort of ethical foundation that it becomes a problem IMO.
To me, that line has already been crossed by President Trump a while ago.
Oh sure, I agree absolutely. It was crossed before he even won the primary. The problem is that lots of valid criticisms of his unsuitability for the office are mixed in with things that merely make him thoroughly unpleasant, and they’re not always the same thing.
I agree with both points. My statement was not about his ability for the office though, but about how he sucks as a person, and like you said, he’s apparently proud of it.
Ahsoka was very annoying from the very start imo, but it all got a lot worse in the beginning of Season 3, just when I had started liking her.
I also thinks the Dathomir Ventress arc is overrated, and my 2 favorites are Umbara arc and the Second Battle of Geonosis.
The thing about The Clone Wars is that it never seemed to make sense with the movies, so I’ve always considered it an “alternate” universe, while 2003 Clone Wars is canon in my heart. If well edited (removing childish moments, removing inconsistencies with the rest of the saga, etc) The Clone Wars can be a gorgeous addition to the collection though.
Mostly agree, my favorite arcs are Darth Maul Returns and Ahsoka’s last arc. I like this version of Anakin, he is exactly like Obi-Wan described him in A New Hope.
Yes I agree. But that’s not how he was portrayed in the movies. Shame on the movies, sure, but inconsistent nonetheless.
I (sort of) like the Darth Maul part of the Dathomir arc, but the rest with Ventress is not really for me. And Ahsoka’s fate in the series is indeed powerful and emotional. I quite like it.
I do think that those who defend the movie go out of their ways to defend it. I mean, sure you can disagree the weaponizing hyperspace created inconsistencies, but you don’t have to disregard everything the opposite side of the discussion is saying because there IS value in what they’re saying. Dre presented some very good arguments. He also posted a meme to illustrate and make it clear in a lighthearted way what he was trying to say. His arguments were indeed very good and did convince me.
I mean, I think Rian got to several points where he didn’t know what to write, so he had to come up with something quickly, such as the slow sublight chase, or Holdo not telling Poe the plan.

Whenever I see Ehrenreich’s Han Solo I can only see young Leo DiCaprio.

I know you didn’t mean it to sound so grandiose but to me, casually reading from a country that’s not the US, having to see this really doesn’t endear you to me.
Sweet Christmas.
I don’t mean best, I mean biggest almost in terms of land but certainly in terms of influence and such.
Shut up loser you know Tarkin wouldn’t hesitate in evacuating in their moment of triumph, and would ALWAYS overestimate our chances, just in case. You know, be ready for anything.
