Is it not ok to say mean things jokingly about minorities that suffer more than PT fans simply because they suffer more? I can see where you’re coming from Dom, but I think that if a person gets hurt in any way because of what they like or stuff like that, that is discrimination. And I’m sure that PT fans felt offended to some degree by the joke, much like I did, because I was once a PT fan myself.

Anyway, are we going to have to agree to disagree?

So while we’re at it, how about we stop treating people who like the ST like people? Or stop treating people that like MARVEL movies like people? Or how about stop treating someone with a certain sexuality like people because they are attracted to X instead of the majority’s Y?

Making “people who don’t like Disney SW movies” out to be a minority on par with people with different sexual orientations is… misguided, to say the least.

PT fans were the direct comparison, but the whole point from the start of your post was to compare to minority of non-ST fans with the minority of PT fans. Either way you really shouldn’t be comparing them to minority groups that actually matter.

I think most companies that would be target of boycotts today are too big for a boycott to hurt or affect them in any way, like Disney.

A Wrinkle In Time: interesting movie. I think they overdid the costumes a little bit but I enjoyed most of the environments. So I guess I enjoyed the aesthetics. I also liked the protagonist, but the other characters just make some very weird decisions and the movie goes on to become incohesive due to characters’ actions.

To put it in an interesting way: it’s sort of a cheesy acid trip that could’ve been better.

Black Panther: loved it. Wish it would’ve gone more political in several moments, but I really liked it. It lost me a little bit during the part where SPOILERS

T’Challa was “dead”,

but overall it was pretty great. The first act was definitely my favorite though. Getting to know T’Challa more and his family and stuff - that was very cool. So yeah, I liked it a lot. It had the Iron Man feeling to me. Not sure how else to describe it, but I can tell you it’s a good thing.

As to how Vader could provoke Luke (which is actually the alleged reason for including the twist in the first place), he does say the Dark Side is the only way to save his friends. Okay, I’ll admit that’s pretty weak, but I’d let it slide to not make them siblings any day. That said, I’d certainly prefer a better cause of provocation.

How about instead of saying “twin sister” Vader says “the princess” or something like that? Then take out the dialogue of “Obi-Wan hiding her from him”, and just make the “if you won’t turn to the dark side perhaps she will” still be about Leia, but not sister Leia.

In the end I won’t mind if she’s still Luke’s sister at all though, I simply think that the idea of making her not be his sister is worth considering.
