Still not sure that telling Laura's story first is a good idea. I think it would work better in flashbacks.

Well said, ESF.
I still plan to donate what I can after Christmas.
Ah, so it's basically a series of "films," then.
Wouldn't putting FWWM first ruin all the suspense of the show itself? I think it would work better as flashbacks inserted into the show itself as Agent Cooper learns more about what happened.
2 hour long Power Ranger episodes? I don't think so.
They were overly flashy and didn't have much logic to them, I agree with that. A Jedi should be able to hold his own in a duel while conserving as much energy as possible, which would be accomplished by only striking or defending when necessary. Doing unnecessary flips and twirls ruins that, and makes the Jedi look ridiculous.
But Power Rangers? Come on.
I feel like my head's gonna explode. What the fuck happened here?!
If Dayv was telling the truth from the start, and Shawn started all this shit because of some personal issue ... that's incredibly fucked up and disgusting of him to do.
If Shawn was right and Dayv was lying ... well, same thing, but to Dayv instead of Shawn.
I'm so confused...

Nearly three years after the first post, does still somebody believe this will see the light of day ? I agree with VK2019 - I can't help but feel sorry for you, but for other reasons...you started this fanboy fantasy (and I'm sure you have started with your project) - but after such a long time I don't think you'll find an end for it. This is not meant as bitching or moaning, but I think it's time to end this fantasy...I lost my believe in this project long ago and have no interest anymore for this, but it's fun to see from time to time how this thread is going on. Good luck for your project and congratulations if it really finds an end (I think in 2019, eh ?), but for me it's simply a fanboy fantasy...
Why bump a thread after two months if all you're going to do is bitch and moan about it?
So I ask again. Is this Fire Walk With Me + Twin Peaks combined into one movie? Is it Fire Walk With Me + Twin Peaks cut into episodes to make a new TV series? What is it?
If Ben hadn't sacrificed himself, Luke would have refused to let Han take off without him, and Vader would have fought even harder to keep Ben at bay while the stormtroopers picked off the rest of the rebels.
Basically, he sacrificed himself so they could escape. Luke never would have left Ben there to die, so dying in front of Luke solves that problem. Becoming one with the Force so he could help Luke later was just a bonus.
Hey man, I don't disagree. The handling of lightsabers in the PT is a major point of contention for me, simply because it doesn't fit with what we were shown in the OT.
But you can't say that the TPM duel wasn't pretty badass in its own right.
What is this, exactly? Twin Peaks turned into a movie? Fire Walk With Me expanded with footage from the TV show?

The old home video versions are Lucas' "restored original cuts", but the original theatrical releases should be preserved anyway IMO. One of the nice things about preservations of different cuts, is that you can study the films history.
My sentiments exactly, 100%.
I like the lightsaber fight in TPM. As I said, I actually like the film, just not as much as any of the OT.
ROTS has its moments. They're very few and far between, though, and don't make up for the poor, disjointed plotting.
I stand by my theory that everything that happens in ROTS should have happened over the course of all three prequels - cramming them all into ROTS makes for a very disjointed, hyperactive film that just doesn't feel like a cohesive whole at all.
Hell, even AOTC has its moments. And by that, I mean Obi-Wan's detective work, and that's about it. The rest of that movie blows pretty hard.

Could be that Jay knows you've donated, Frink, so didn't send you an email.
Oh, and I can't donate now, Dayv, but I promise I will after Christmas.
Thanks for that video, it was pretty sweet.
It also demonstrates exactly why we never see realistic swordfighting in movies. It all happens in the span of about two seconds, then one person has a sword in his brain. Not very cinematic.
Alright, DS, I finished Dexter, so you're off my ignore list.
And about season 5, spoilers below:
I pretty much agree with you. The last episode was great until they copped out on Lumen. I was looking forward to Dexter having a true partner next season.
Ah, well. At least it wasn't as bland and tasteless as season 3.
And it turns out there weren't even any spoilers in your post - I just saw "Dexter" and didn't want to risk it.
I wouldn't consider Empire OR Khan to be in the top five best sci-fi films ever made, let alone the top two. What about 2001? Or Blade Runner? Children of Men? Moon? Planet of the Apes? The Day the Earth Stood Still? Invasion of the Body Snatchers? Abre los ojos? Alien? The Road?
I could go on, but I'll stop. My point is, every one of those films is (in my mind) superior to both Empire and Wrath of Khan, at least as science fiction.
Don't forget that the true original theatrical cuts of THX and Graffiti have never been released on any home video format, ever. Only Lucas' "original" cuts have been made available (the ones Lucas was allowed to release in theaters in 1977, after Star Wars became big).
I've been in film school for three and a half years now, and all I have to say to you is this:
It's incredibly rewarding, but so much hard work. Go in with an open mind, and try to do as much as you can (direct, write, edit, do sound work, and anything else you can) before you decide which area you really want to do. When you find that (and you'll know it when you do), and you start focusing on it, it'll stop feeling like work.
Good luck, FF!
I challenge you to find one person that could be described as a "prequel lover" on this site. Hell, we have a whole section of the forum dedicated to people who are re-writing the prequels from scratch, as if the official versions never existed. Not to mention all the fan edits of the existing versions.
Sorry, DS - I had to put you on "Ignore" because I'm about 6 or 7 episodes behind on Dexter, and I don't want to spoil it for myself.
It's only temporary, I promise.

just another prequel fan in denial . sorry if the truth hurts prequel lover. but YES. everything I just posted is fact not my opinion
Wow. You're kind of a dick, huh?
Just finished the first season of Fringe.
Definitely got a lot better in the second half. Love the alternate universe thing, and frickin' Leonard Nimoy?!?! Hell yeah!
Very excited to start season two. Though I'm disappointed that Fox apparently stopped doing the limited-commercials thing for the second season, which means every season-2 episode is be about ten minutes shorter than season-1 episodes. I really thought the extra length helped season 1 a lot, too.

Just doin' my job.
Oh, and in case it makes you feel even older: my mother was 13 when Tron came out.
I don't hate ROTJ. It disappoints me, sure, as there are a great many missed opportunities in it, and it doesn't feel like a continuation of what was set up in ESB ... but I still enjoy it, and watch it often (if not as often as SW and ESB).
