What 'a Star Wars Story' / anthology / spinoff film would you like to see?

I’d love to see a live action Clone Wars film. Just a random story set during the war. Possibly starring Anakin and Obi-Wan, possibly starring someone else. I’d just love to see more from that era in live action with current visual effects technology.

That could have happened in 2006-07, but now in 2022, I seriously doubt it.

Maybe in an important flashback scene, but not the whole thing.

The Kenobi <s>Movie</s> Show (Spoilers)
Time

There’s a rumor going around that the Emperor might make an appearance in Kenobi. I think it’s possible, Vader always answers the Emperor’s messages.

Ian McDiarmid said we could see more of the Emperor. I not only see him doing a cameo for the Kenobi series, but possibly in the big finale of these current and future Star Wars series on Disney+

What do you all think?

Would you like to see him reprise his role in other Star Wars projects?

Before Grogu, I always thought it would be cool to see a really young Yoda set 700 years before The Phantom Menace. We watch his village attacked and his parents murdered right in front of him by a lightsaber wielding Sith, one of the very few remaining.

The Sith villain has visions of a great teacher who trains Jedi. This teacher is Yoda, and he just starts killing Yoda’s kind without knowing his identity. We see Yoda go through many emotions throughout the story.

An older recluse of his kind survives by not being in the village on the night of the attack. He teaches Yoda about the force, to seek out knowledge and to find the mysterious Jedi, he travels to many different places and he eventually finds them.

I think R2 will help Kenobi keep Leia safe, but it will be 11 years later he will see him again, and the droid doesn’t belong to him, it belongs to Senator Bail Organa.

R2 trusts Kenobi completely, so the droid will say anything to get to him.

Wow, alot of salty comments about Star Wars in general in this thread 😬
End of the day its a good time to be a Star Wars fan if your able to embrace the new.

“We are what they grow beyond” - Yoda 😉

It’s a problem if the new isn’t good.

Exactly. I know that the Star Wars fandom has a serious toxicity problem, but some fans recently have been going the polar opposite direction: Acting like Star Wars is a perfect flawless franchise and everyone who criticizes it is a toxic hater. Every franchise has flaws, especially Star Wars, and this mindless “enjoy everything with the Star Wars logo on it” mindset really isn’t healthy.

For example, I like The Last Jedi a lot more than most of the fandom, but I would never try to stop people from criticizing it (unless they were being an ass about it). Similarly, I dislike Rogue One a lot more than most of the fandom, but I would never try to stop people from praising it. Is it really that hard to just let opinions exist without trying to convince people that your opinion is the only objectively correct one?

Exactly, this isn’t an Oscar movie, it’s not supposed to be The Godfather, or anything like that, it’s just Star Wars. It’s like kids playing outside with their Star Wars toys, it’s supposed to be mindless fun, not a serious drama with a perfect script

I think they did a good job, could it have been better, sure. I think the fan base is split on this one, but don’t take it so serious, it’s supposed to be a space western with familiar characters that we love and know.

Yes, Star Wars won Oscars back then, I was just trying to get my point across.

<strong>The Book Of Boba Fett</strong> (live action series) - a general discussion thread - * <strong>SPOILERS</strong> *
Time

For those that don’t like the Boba Fett series, and are looking to make their own Mandalorian season 2.5 cut

  • Din arrives at the TaunTaun meat locker kills those dog creatures, fights with the darksaber, and decides to leave for Tatooine.

  • He arrives in Mos Eisley builds his ship and he leaves Tatooine

  • Have Din arrive and spend time talking with Ahsoka, Luke training Grogu, but omit the scene when Ahsoka talks about Grogu’s training being interrupted if he sees him.

  • Luke asking Grogu if he wants the lightsaber or his friend’s gift.

  • Then we see Din’s ship flying off the planet.

  • The last scene is Grogu tapping on the glass and Din pushing the button to accelerate.

This way, you don’t have to watch TBOBF, you can just skip it all with careful editing.

Did Lucas forget that Obi Wan served Bail Organa in the Clone Wars ?
Time

I like to think that Luke and Leia both had visions as young kids.

Leia saw her real mother, but they were images of her, and feelings of love.

Luke yearned to see his father and know as much about him as possible. He reached out with his force abilities to seek answers (in his dreams), and Yoda was the only one listening. I think this is why Luke feels like he’s been to Dagobah, because when Yoda was calming Luke down with the force, he could actually see Yoda and his surroundings, just like a dream.

Maybe I’m wrong and this is explained in the Kenobi series, we’ll just have to wait and see.

Edit:
Luke has no memory of his real mother, and Leia has no memory of her father.

This could be something Kenobi or Yoda did to ease their pain, or hide it from Vader, the Emperor or the inquisitors.

This finale and now in retrospect, this show, was a complete, and utter, mess.

I thought it was great, loved the rancor. There’s a post credit scene of the Marshall in Fett’s Bacta tank, he’s also getting a modification.

I liked the King Kong reference as well.

Anakin should have become Darth Vader before the last 10 minutes of Episode III
Time

Thanks WookieeWarrior77, that’s how I thought it would go down. I left a huge gap in the story once Kenobi is on Coruscant, but you get the idea of what I was going for, which is, Vader is the main villain, but he doesn’t know it’s Anakin until toward the end, and he’s actually frightened what his student and friend has turned into…a monster.

As for Luke going to Dagobah with Yoda first, it seemed like he had been there before, almost like a dream as he states in TESB, that’s because he was there.

I do hope this is addressed in the Obi-wan Kenobi series. Maybe he goes to Dagobah when he was 8 years old, but then Yoda or Kenobi mind erase his very brief time there, while he takes care of Leia from the inquisitors.

Uncle Owen will not like Kenobi for putting them all in danger. After it’s all over, he’ll say, “Stay away from my family, I don’t want to ever see you around here anymore.”

Anakin should have become Darth Vader before the last 10 minutes of Episode III
Time

I think there should have been more than 3 movies, the phantom menace should have been it’s own story with no Episode number. Something like “In the beginning…”

Episode II now the new Episode I
Episode III now being the Episode II

At the end of the new Episode II, the duel happens, Kenobi doesn’t see what happens to Anakin, he falls over and Kenobi assumes he’s dead. This is the cliffhanger Kenobi and Padme leave and the closest planet is Alderaan. Bail Organa greets Kenobi and the injured Padme. Meanwhile, the injured Anakin is found by the Emperor as they fly into space and iris out, it’s the end of the movie.

Episode III begins after the scroll as we follow the Emperor’s ship coming out of light speed and arriving on the planet. We see Darth Vader being assembled but we can’t see his face, it’s more like building a machine. We watch as the twins are born on Alderaan.

Yoda has the same talk with Bail and Kenobi, but Yoda takes Luke with him to Dagobah until Kenobi can figure out what’s happening with Chancellor Palpatine. He arrives on Coruscant and goes to his office to speak to him, but the guards won’t let him in.

Kenobi can sense something, something dark and evil, yet very familiar. He decides to leave and return later.

A scene of the Emperor talking to Vader about his planned Death Star project and how it’s already in production. This will keep the systems under control.

Vader wipeouts all remaining Jedi on Coruscant with his newly constructed red lightsaber.

The movie eventually leads up to Vader confronting Kenobi and it’s a draw, badly wounded, Kenobi flys to Dagobah to ask Master Yoda what they should do, he orders him to take young Luke to Tatooine to live with his family, he promises to watch over him.

Same ending of Episode III.

Well Book of Boba is 7 episodes long and half the galaxy has showed up in that span 😄

True that, but there’s other new characters in this that we never heard of before, like inquisitors. There’s certain boxes they want to check. There’s still a story to tell and the main one is Kenobi and Anakin.

How many cameos will there be? Perhaps three, perhaps four?

I predict: Luke, Owen, Yoda, Qui-Gon, Anakin, Vader, Ashoka, Grogu, Boba Fett, Commander Cody, Captain Rex, Leia, Bail, Mon Mothma, General Dodana, R2-D2, C-3PO, Figrin Dan and/or the Modal Nodes, no fewer than four other Cantina characters, Jabba the Hutt, the Tusken tribe from TBOBF, Bib Fortuna, Duchess Satine, Palpatine and his son.

Anakin/Vader obviously

Owen, Beru, Luke, Jabba, Tusken raiders, Young Han Solo and Chewbacca cameo in Mos Eisley cantina (Tatooine)

Bail Organa, Captain Antillies, Leia, the droids (Alderaan)

Padme, Ahsoka, and the Emperor in flashbacks

Young Tarkin, Mon Mothma, Yoda and Qui-gon cameos.

Remember this is only 6 episodes

So we know there’s a big chance to see Han Solo and Chewbacca, but does anyone think we’ll get a quick shot of Leia using this new deep fake technology? Or will they respect Carrie Fisher’s family and not ever show her again on film or television in live action after Episode IX.

What do you think?

Fett vs Cad Bane showdown, who’s ready?

I don’t think he’s dead, but I think the citizens of his town will save his life by taking him to get a mod, like Fennec.

He was only shot in the shoulder so I don’t see why the mods will be needed, but we’ll see. He’s definitely coming back though, otherwise they would have given him a more obvious and dramatic death.

Yeah, the bartender is taking him to Boba Fett, where he will place him in the Bacta tank to heal. Cobb Vanth will explain what happened to Boba Fett and Fennec, they will know right away it was Cad Bane.

I’m thinking the next chapter will be at least an hour long

I think the Marshall is saved just like Fennec, he’ll get a mod and survive, then he’ll get revenge.

In case you haven’t watched the episode yet.

I loved seeing Cad Bane. When I saw that figure in the distance, I just knew it was Cad Bane, especially when I saw the hat.

Han Solo will bring his son to be trained by his uncle Luke. Grogu is dropped off on Tatooine by Solo on their way home. Han Solo and Boba Fett meet face to face again. Grogu saves Din in the battle. Fennec will face off with…

Cad Bane.

Din and Grogu head to Mandalore, the end.

The Kenobi <s>Movie</s> Show (Spoilers)
Time

Anthony Daniels’ C-3PO will be appearing in an upcoming series, but he’s in a mo-cap suit, instead of a physical suit that he normally wears.

It could be Kenobi, or it could be Andor, or he could be with Skywalker at the end of the Book of Boba Fett, right now it’s unknown.

My guess is the Obi-wan Kenobi series, due to Anakin creating him, and also rumors that he visits Leia, so the droids will be nearby.

It could be shots that weren’t used for The Phantom Menace for whatever reason, so they used them for this.

Most likely a new miniature or the old one set up outside and shot with new cameras trying to recreate the exact shot where the original was. That’s why it’s off a little and the miniature has deteriorated somewhat.
