They should just stop making Star Wars stuff, there’s enough already

Or they could come up with new ideas.

Even Disney new ideas are now being recycled like crazy (Baby Yoda / Lil Leia / Omega, or Rey the scavanger / Ben the hobo butcher, Reva / Finn even share lots of similar ideas). They even have already did TWICE the Imperial redhead guy switching side… (never trust gingers, remember Cartman warned us about them 😄).

Maybe they could just do less but better, quality vs quantity. But when I read some comments here, I have the feeling casual fans just want to be plugged to neverending Star Wars feed with a mind elastic enough to accept basically anything (it still is incredibly laughable to consider the number of comments defending a rematch set between Mustafar and the Death Star events as “adding more depth and layers”… well, we’ve seen the quality of those layers, right…).

They are bringing us new movies with new characters never before seen in Patty Jenkins movie Rogue Squadron in 2024 and Taika Waititi’s Star Wars film in 2023.

It’ll be here soon, patience.

I’m hoping for a season 2, this time with Luke, but no planet hopping this time. Maybe Luke is in trouble with Jabba the Hutt or owes him money. You could have Luke flying his T-16 through Beggars Canyon racing others, but he loses and owes Jabba. Kenobi might have to kill a few bounty hunters along the way.

People just never learn of their mistakes. Never.

I apologize for being rude, I’m sorry

If there was to be a season two, skip a few years to get a graying Kenobi (with a wig that looks like Sir Alec’s wig) going up against some Hutt BS or a force-sensitive bounty hunter that endangers Luke/the citizens of the Dune Sea. Maybe this is the incident that makes Owen go “no contact” with Kenobi (if Joel Edgerton’s salary demands are met/he’s not too busy).

Maybe find a live-action Satine for flashbacks? Her absence is understandable in this story, but it would be nice to have her acknowledged.

Agreed, they should age him a bit. You have some great ideas. Love the wig idea, lol.

Maybe you could have Kenobi have premonitions of his encounter with Maul as well.

I’m wondering if you changed the score of this to all John Williams score if it would improve the feel of the show. I feel when Vader is on screen we should be getting the imperial march theme or the extended march theme. It doesn’t have to play all the time, but this feels like a cosplay without certain themes. The same goes for Leia and her theme.

John Williams would know exactly how to do it, I just don’t understand why they didn’t have him instead. I guess he was busy or cost too much. I know he’s getting older, so that might be another reason.

It does have this cheap production feel to it at times throughout the series.

What would you like to see if there was a season 2? Do you agree with using Luke this time?

Boba Fett Actor Temuera Morrison Wants to Bring the Star Wars Bounty Hunter Back to his Old, ‘Badass Ways’ at IGN.

“We’ve got to bring him back somewhere. We’ve got to see the old Boba Fett," Morrison said. “We reintroduced him. We found out some stuff. But I think it’s time to get him back to his badass ways. No two ways around that. So, I think we sort of have that scope to go back there, but that’s out of my control. I’ll just see what happens.”

I’d be happy to see that old Boba Fett again. But surely the time for that was the first season of this show, and them show him mellowing or reaiising the ‘there is a better way’ for him and his bounty hunter kin as the series progressed each season?

They probably told the writers this is a one and done, with a very small chance of a second season.

I liked it, that was better for that scene.

The slower imperial march should play during their battle, not the whole track, just the beginning and mix the original in, then back to the theme again once Vader tips over that cart.

I think if you could add a rumble sound effect into the battle it wouldn’t feel flat and boring.

When the music ends in the theme, is where he can’t reach Kenobi because of the flames.

Just like when he reached the Falcon on Hoth, he reached it and it flew away.

Also, just like when Luke let go and fell in Cloud City, he couldn’t do anything but watch him fall.

Sure he could have stopped both of them, but he decided to let them both go, just as he did Kenobi.

Very nice, but can you use the slower version of the imperial march during the actual duel.

This one, thank you.

Like I said, he looks cheap and different because he never had to go up against a strong Jedi Master

OR: he looks cheap because the production fucked him up.

Have you looked at Vaders costume and helmet in A New Hope? Cheap looking, but for The Empire Strikes Back, they had the bigger budget and made his helmet shine and made his suit better.

Future Spoilers:

in the final duel Obi-wan Kenobi destroys a part of Darth Vader’s helmet, so he gets a new helmet before A New Hope.

Time

I loved the episode, I can see why fans are complaining, but it’s the little moments that count the most to me. Whenever Kenobi is talking to Leia about something from the past, it just breaks my heart. Both of their performances are very good.

As far as Vader, this isn’t Vader from A New Hope. He too, is on a journey, just as Kenobi is. It’s like looking at something that isn’t finished yet and saying that sucks, it’s horrible.

There is another duel and I’m sure Kenobi will show Vader why he’s still the master, angering Vader even more. This loss in the next duel will make Vader upgrade his armor and helmet even further. Like I said, he looks cheap and different because he never had to go up against a strong Jedi Master, such as Kenobi in the last 10 years. His armor is weaker due to no contest against the weak Jedi he ran across.

Kenobi is only fighting at like 50% in this episode, because the force is slowly going back to Kenobi. In his final duel with Vader he will be at 100%

I just have a strong feeling that Kenobi wipes Leia’s memory because she finds out something. Maybe she learns her father is the man in that horrible black mask. It might be too traumatic for her, so he removes those memories of them together and her learning the truth.

Remember in Return of the Jedi, when Leia says to Luke, “I know, somehow I’ve always known.” She knew Luke was her brother and Vader was her father, but Kenobi removes it from her memory. When Luke reveals to her they are brother and sister, some of those memories return to her.

I also think he tells young Leia that if she ever needs him again, she can find him in the Jundland Wastes on Tatooine. Maybe R2-D2 is there when he says it, that way he knows exactly where to go on that big planet.

Qui-Gon was more friendlier and talked to Anakin like his equal. Anakin could tell he actually cared for him.

Whereas Kenobi who thought Anakin was this lower life form, just like Jar Jar. He ONLY trained Anakin because it was his master’s last dying wish. Had he not said that, Kenobi would have brought him back to Tatooine.

Kenobi did not treat him as an equal, but rather a student who didn’t deserve it. He would tell his student everything he was doing wrong, but never did he praise him, treat him fair, like Qui-Gon would have.

I am enjoying it, the one continuity issue that I have is that OWK doesn’t know that Anakin is still alive?
In Revenge of the Sith he literally watches a security video where Anakin is with Palpatine and Palpy refers to him as Vader, so if even once in the last ten years OWK has heard of the Emperor’s enforcer “Vader” he would have to know that Anakin is still alive. One could argue that he lives in a cave on Tatooine, doesn’t get out much, he’s clearly a cord cutter so he isn’t watching the Intergalactic News Network, but he knows who the Inquisitors are…it just seems a BIG stretch that Anakin Vader being alive is news to him.

Maybe this IS the first time hearing it. He found out 10 years before A New Hope.

Maybe Vader hasn’t been showing his face much, only until Kenobi shows his face is he interested in putting on that dreadful suit that’s very painful for him. He wants revenge, so he’s going to suit up.

After watching these two episodes…

I went back to watch Alec Guinness’ performance as Kenobi when Leia’s message played for him and Luke. His reaction to the message hits different for me now, than it did before. I love that he knows her personally and not just as Princess Leia of Alderaan or Luke’s sister.

I love watching this and how they fill in these characters backstories, I’m excited to see what’s next.

The celibate monk thing goes back to the 1974 screenplay but was dropped in the actual movies and the EU. Only to be recanonized contexualized in the prequel. Like midi clorians being too similar to the Kaiburr Crystal as a way to describe the force. its something that should have not been revisited.

My opinion.

The weird thing is, I recall an interview from the early 2000’s where George stated that Jedi actually aren’t technically celibate. They’re just not allowed to have emotional relationships, but it’s technically okay for them to have sex. Which is weirder to me. I need to find where he said that.

The thing is that I feel the PT movies make it clear that this harsh Jedi way with no attachments is directly responsible for Anakin’s fall. That and they are blind to Palpatine and his influence. I think that is the real point of Qui-gon. While he is as aloof as any Jedi in the PT, he is not as harsh as Mace. He’s not as bound by tradition as Yoda. He was a student of Dooku who fell to the dark side. Obi-wan comments that he would be on the council if he just conformed. It is that non-conformity that I think Anakin needed to be successful. He needed the tools to deal with his issues where the main Jedi order was telling him to not have issues. It is like telling a drug adict to quit vs. sharing with them the tools to do it. I think Qui-gon is the only Jedi who had the tools Anakin needed. I thought that even before I heard that this was how George was thinking (Duel of the Fates - so it dates to TPM).

Agreed, and I think Palpatine sensed and foreseen that, so he made sure Darth Maul killed the master Jedi Qui-Gon.

i just want to say i’ve been waiting so long to see star wars characters talking to each other like real people about their lives and emotions and not just stoic one liners and exposition. this is all i’m excited about, im telling you deborah chow >> filoni/favreau’s action figure mentality

I agree, despite the rumors and spoilers I’ve read, I still think Deborah Chow will deliver something really special with lots of feelings and emotions, not just the action. I enjoyed what she did for the Mandalorian, so I definitely want to see this.

One more week, two episodes.

The Book Of Boba Fett (live action series) - a general discussion thread - * SPOILERS *

What I hated about this is some of the campy dialogue/situations. I get that Return of the Jedi had the most of it, even Empire when Luke met Yoda for the first time, but would you do that for a suited Vader series? Probably not.

It’s Boba Fett, the guy should have never removed his helmet after leaving the Tusken Raiders. Once he got his uniform back, no one never sees him, EVER! I understand he’s a different person and on a spiritual awakening, but the story was weak.

I would have had Fett chase the villain that killed his new family across the galaxy wearing his new Boba Fett uniform. He eventually tracks down the one that killed his family, and it’s Cad Bane, but there’s a bigger villain that ordered it, as he faces this new threat it ends there for season 1.

I rethought my choice for TFA, and decided that Han’s death should have been saved for some sort of emotional cold open for TLJ.

I agree, Han Solo should have taken Rey to see Luke, then they should have showed up to see Leia and the trio would be back together on screen.

Han could have left alone with the Falcon and had a dog fight in space with his son, emphasizing Solo and the Falcon going out together in a spectacular explosion with a Han Solo last words scene.
