ronwlim's custom bluray cases/box set

Ronwilm,

great work & initiative. I really love your slipcase, extras and covers-great job! I spent a large part of friday putting two of them together.

I can see how the slipcases are somewhat hard to print if you don’t realize that the paper stock is 12x18 (use the ‘view’ rulers on your PDF). My local printshop did print all this out for me in triplicate on good stock paper for about $25. I wanted to make two sets (one for me and a friend) and have an extra for mess-ups (which did occur). Unfortunately they only had 11x17 for the slipcases, so I just winged it.

I was using a white Elmers-type glue to stick everything together but hated it immensely. Does anyone have any suggestions on a better glue? I know that Ron suggested ‘rubber cement’ but I wasn’t sure which one.

I watched the DIY video and will head over to a thrift store to pick up some old books to get going on attempting that version as it’ll probably hold up much better over time. Thanks for posting that video.

ronwilm are you planning to do some ‘sticker’ templates based on your slipcases for 2.0? I for one, would love that.

Now, I just need to wait for an invite from a kind stranger on another discussion for a MySpleen invite and I should be off and rolling with a full set of my own! This is so cool. “The wa-i-ting is the hardest part” - Tom Petty.

Cheers!

P.S. This project has given me a reason to go back into the ole’ craft store since taking a break from drawing. Loved taking some time to relax and cut the pieces to put this project together.
