Had a problem with the scanner losing focus, here are the same two frames in 4K full aperture for anyone that wants a look.
The focus problem has been fixed before this frames, right? Because I canât see any focus problem on these two. Even the dolby digital data looked well defined/usableâŠ

I know of at least one language where the title was translated in singular. So this does not seem to be very reliable.
A mistake can be made in one way, but not the other way.
In french, you just canât translate âThe Last Jediâ in plural by mistake.

That certainly sucks, but thank god the new mobo was able to reuse the existing raid arrays. i have heard anecdotal horror stories about firmware mismatches causing issues with this. not a fun situation, but it could have been worse i guess.

Power is back on, PC wonât boot. No Internet here yet either. Going to open the PC up tonight to see what the trouble is. We rent, so the house damage isnât our concern at least, and the house has been secured so all is good on that front, but we sustained some water damage inside. It looks like we had a power surge or brownout issue though as the fridge is dead and the PC etc seems to have problems. Will update as I work though it.
Poita, I seriously think you should create and participate to a show called âExtreme restoringâ, where people try to restore old movies but are constantly bothered by tornados, disk crashes, etc. With your tenacity, you would certainly win the contest! Hope this made you smile a bit đ

He has posted the full frame scans before, including the sprockets, etc. Presumably itâs just how the preview is rendered. Though it would be interesting (unfortunate) if thatâs the full image.

This is the faded German Reel5 after a basic colour adjustment to reduce the red fade. The heads and tails are pretty beat up, and the film is pretty grubby.

No but seriously, I think these kind of cleanups should be left to those semi professionals (Harmy and others) who know what theyâre doing. Otherwise the end result could be junk.

Like it has been said ealier, it appears that the collaborative process will be something like âspot the dust and scratchâ on the frame. Without installing any software, and without technical knowledge.
And more generally, we are thinking to make it the best way, and to ensure the highest quality. Of course.
The semi professionals are in charge of this endeavor. I donât think theyâll put anyone in a role that runs the risk of junk output.
