It’s a real shame about PT:R. These were the revisited projects I was most looking forward to. They are even more broken than Jedi. Hopefully someone else will take up the mantle. There is good them, I have felt it 😊 even if Rouge One was part3 of a PT:R. So much technical talent and genuine affection from people who worked on those Star Wars misshapes. It’s a shame if they stayed as they are.

Well, if we are lucky, Disney will do a cool Darth Vader movie where we can see him chasing the remaining Jedis across the galaxy. If they do a cool movie, you can consider Rogue One as Episode 3, this Darth Vader movie as episode 2 and someone can try to edit ROTS (with maybe some (few) scenes from the episode 1 or 2) to be the first episode, removing most of it flaws. This way we can have a prequel that doesn’t contradict anything that was said in the OT.

I was hoping for a Phantom Manace revisited too. That movie could be turned into a good movie too, with some adjustments. (by removing Jar-jar, and fixing Threepio mostly)
But this discussion is for another thread I guess. (I have no idea which one though)

I do not trust Disney anymore. First they made a terribly bad, than a mediocre movie, so they are 0 for 2 right now. Im afraid a cool Disney Star Wars movie is unrealistic expectation at this point.

There is so much potential in PT:R. The PT is so broken in its current form that there are no sacred cows. And yet there are so many wonderful designs and a few nice performances just waiting to be liberated. To be frank this news is almost 1983 all over again, for me personally. Naturally I support and respect Adys decisions. A man must know his limits but it was the possibility of finally enjoying the first three episodes that really interested me much more than reworking the first two movies which are pretty much flawless anyway. At least Jedi is getting fixed. But the real problems with Jedi are the same problems the PT has. The story is lacklustre, the performances are patchy, the visuals are inconsistent. Disney will never repair the PT. Hopefully Adys achievements will inspire someone else.

It now seems like Ady isn’t going to attempt the prequels. I hope someone else pulls them apart and reconstructs them with that same level of attention to detail because as much as just editing alone has improved them. These are the first three episodes. Something I waited form 1983 to 1999 to experience and there is only so much that remixing can do to rectify the disappointment. It would take something of an Adywan scale to fix them. It would be a shame if threads like these went to waste.

Final, Final day at my current job today.
It feels weird.
I did two ten hour shifts this week to clear my desk. So now I’ve kind of run out of things to do but a co-worker who is also leaving today and myself are really not sure what is happening next. very strange 😄

Making the guards fall asleep has a nice fairy tale quality to it.
In my view Vader chokes people because he can’t breath nobody else should do that.
Only Palpatine should do the lightning trick too.
I can see why people disagree but it just keeps these signature moves signature.
Leia choking Jabba and joking Lando by proxy however I do approve of so colour me a hypocrite 😄

Having Luke do it (force choke) does foreshadow his darkside potential as does Leia choking Jabba but it’s just seems too dark for a Jedi move.

Seems too dark for a Jedi move because it’s foreshadowing his potential fall to the dark side.
Didn’t you just say that? 😉

Yeah but how does he learn to do it? Is it an instinctive thing? Because it hardly feels like something Yoda would teach him.

Saw a huge flash in the sky around 10:50 pacific time this evening. Scared the crap out of me and no idea what it could have been.

Sounds like summer lighting. First time I saw it I thought they had dropped the bomb.

I’ve read numerous posts in regards to removing Boba Fett from Jabba’s Palace during Jedi. While I understand the reasoning for this, I think it would be more interesting if he was their waiting for Luke to attempt a rescue Han.

After Luke arrives, Boba Fett can inform Vader that Luke is at Jabba’s Palace. I would probably place this after Luke has killed the Rancor, but before him and Han are reunited:

INT. DEATHSTAR. VADERS CHAMBERS

VADER sits in his mediation chamber. BOBA FETT appears on the view screen.

VADER:
What is it, bounty hunter.

FETT:
Skywalker is here.

VADER:
See to it that he remains there.

Vader leaves the Death Star aboard his shuttle.

Then I would place between the barge explosion and falcon/ x-wing leaving Tatooine:

Vader can then arrive and enter through the main gates of the palace (mirroring Lukes entrance), however he snaps the necks of the guards, and find the palace practically empty. This would be after the barge explodes and skiff zooms away…

Then cut to the falcon and x-wing leaving Tatooine.

To me Jedi has always felt a like a film of two somewhat disconnected halves, I think this would go a long way to remedying that.

Another idea for ROTJ would be to have C-3PO inform Han that the Ewoks were already preparing an assault on the Imperial base, therefore their weapons and traps are justified (I know this is something that bothers a lot of people.)

Loving the Vader idea. I had a similar idea of having Fett giving for a fee the location of the Emperor to the rebels and also getting paid by Vader as this would lead them into discovering the second Death Star thus baiting the trap. Your idea of Vader finding the palace empty is good too. You could replace Luke with Vader and use the same footage. I always thought the Force Choke move should be a Vader only move. He uses it because he has to fight for every breath so his signature punishment is deny breath from his opponents. Having Luke do it does foreshadow his darkside potential as does Leia choking Jabba but it’s just seems too dark for a Jedi move.

For your consideration but I’m not sure if I’m sold on the idea.
RE: Marcia Lucas’ recent comments about the sudden appearance of the Falcon in the trench run.

It makes no logical sense, as the station defenses were designed to repulse ships larger than fighters.

It would have been nice if we heard a thunderclap of the Falcon jumping from hyperspace close to the station (taking a risk that he warned Luke about earlier in the film) but then you would miss the ship coming out of the sun.

Maybe Ady could play around with the concept in his next iteration of the film. I think as cinema it makes sense but even in a fantasy context it’s putting the Mechina into the Deus Ex.
