 Yeah, I've always noticed the score in this scene was butchered for the DVD since the first time I've played it. Can't remember how the cue was edited originally though (I don't have the VHS any more).

Just finished watching it, I've had a great time! You managed to get rid of all the tiny, irritating elements and dialogues, while cleverly repositioning scenes (the birth of the Rebellion scenes you've added back in make Bail and Padmé more interesting characters for instance).

I particularly enjoyed the fact that you totally cut out the Yoda/Palpy fight and so seamlessly edited together (while cutting out the shitty bits) all the parts from the Obi/Ani fight.

You've made a version of the movie that's not painful to watch anymore (I've never watched any other fanedit of ROTS), and I thank you for that :D

I really enjoyed Lois connecting the dots as an end to the movie, well done!

I'm afraid this would be piracy :/ My guess is that only option is to buy the 2-disc editions, if it's still available somewhere... Even if you already own the 2004 discs....

Well as we were supposed to learn to translate English to French, we were always told that translators only translate stuff into their native language (in my case the French). Which is indeed better, but I think it's also important to be able to translate towards another language (at least a little bit).

Halfway done (it's not too complicated and is fortunately fairly well written), I should be finished tonight or tomorrow morning; then I'll give it to you for proofreading.

They repeated us so many times "Don't translate towards English" in college... That can be helpful sometimes though :P

I've begun working on it, but I'll need an English-speaking proofreader (I'm French) when I'm done, if anyone's interested (I'm not done yet so it's not urgent). To keep the original layout without (overly) complicating things for myself I'm translating it with Photoshop, so I can send the PSD to the proofreader :3

No problem, I think it's gonna be too much of a problem to translate (I'm a translator, so I think this might help :P), and it should be rewarding indeed :)

There was a set for the chamber in TPM. In the audio commentary of AOTC DVD they say they used plates from TPM and shot the actors in front of a bluescreen (for a change...).

The end of the clip worked really well, Palpatine just saying "You did well", the close-up shot of Anakin and cut to the battle. IMO the tension worked particularly well at that level, and with much more simplicity and subtlety than in the original version.

Yeah, it does: Mark Hamill's narration, but also George when he's interviewed and when there's behind-the-scenes footage with him (all other BTS footage is only subtitled, with the original English-speaking soundtrack).

I still have the AOTC VHS. It's not the theatrical version, it's the DVD one. I guess there's never been any home release of the theatrical version...

(And why insisting on fixing something's that's not necessarily broken? I think the end of ANH works the way it is, in the sense that we see Vader's fighter stop spinning and disappear into the dark vastness of space. No need to see him in an extra scene that would affect the pacing and darken the celebration mood our heroes are in when they land on Yavin 4)

Anyway, are the AT-AT lasers gonna be eventually green? ;)

This dubbing was priceless :D The TPM one was a huge pain in the neck however...

Ever since I bought it I've found this one particularly awful. A quick and lazy cheap photoshopping (but it was the two-disc edition!).

I like the single-disc cover much better.

I agree, and I hope that the additional battle shots will be gone too (they were great, but it was too much to insert them into the movie).

OMG. The infamous "Nooooooo" was dubbed for the French Blu. A friend just made me listen to this passage.

Let's put it this way: if you listened to it, you'd say you'd even prefer Vader saying it in English.

This Blu must definitely be saying "You'll find I'm full of surprises" :D
