Girls/wives who like Star Wars
Time

As a female Star Wars fan i first was introduced to the Star Wars world in 1997 when my dad  took me to see the so called special editions of his beloved movies. I was only seven at the time and the movies had no impact on me at all  until i started to get older i realised how much my dad loved these movies , he kept telling me about the time he and i went to see the movies and when i got a little older ive grown to love the movies also .

( on a different  note theres an English gentleman here that helps me get certain  dvds , thanks G---- your a real help , dont know where i would be without you ! )

On eBay right now:

Now would be the time for someone with a PAL formatted VHS player to snag this sucker up and get it ripped.  I know I would love to see it!

Isnt this version the one that came out with the pal limited edition metal box set around the mid 90's ?.

Can anyone recommend an AVCHD to DVD converter .
Time

Suggested workflow:

  1. Demux the mts to elementary streams with TsRemux.
  2. Use DGAVCDec and AviSynth to downscale to DVD res and frameserve to an MPEG-2 encoder.
  3. Is the audio on the AVCHD already DVD-compliant AC3? If not, you'll have to re-encode to get it into a suitable form.
  4. Use Muxman to mux your audio and video together and author a DVD.

Although I get the impression you were looking for a 1-click app, if you have the time to learn how to use AviSynth it would be worth it in the long run.

Moth3r , are all those programs mentioned freely available on the net ?

Can anyone recommend an AVCHD to DVD converter .
Time

Hey guy's  . Can anyone recommend an avchd to dvd converter , my dad tried a free version ( AVS4YOU) but it only converts with a watermark on the converted picture.

The reason for wanting to do this is because my dvd recorder/hdd has a pretty good edit function and when my dad loaded the converted dvd to the hdd he was able to edit out most of the special edition footage out of Empire with very good results , no more special edition footage of the Wampa ,no more Vader leaving Bespin  and  returning to the star destroyer . He also tried ANH with very good reults and he plans to try to reinsert original trilogy footage to see what the final results look like , its not going to  be a proffesional edit like Ady's but its an attempt to try and get the original trilogy , or as close to it ass possible. But like i said theres a water mark that shows up every few minutes with the convertion . :-(.

  Any recommendations ??

Petition for the Theatrical Cuts of the Original Star Wars Trilogy on Blu-ray
Time

WOW , i go on holiday for a few weeks and i come back to a new looking site with a petition for Star Wars on blu ray. I still have $65 dollars from my holidays i havent changed back into ££££'s yet , i dont mind throwing that into the petition although i dont think we should offer George the whole $65 at first . Maybe $40 at first then the $65 ?

 Think it may help ?

Is it possible to put AVCHD disc's onto a dvd recorder's HDD ?
Time

Is it possible to put my Adywan Star Wars/Empire  avchd discs onto my dvd recorder's hdd without losing detail ? . The machine is a Pioneer DVR LX61 D with a 250 gig hdd. The only input seems to be a scart socket , everything else is output ( component , hdmi , scart ) . The player does not play the avchd disc's ! The machine does output at 1080p upscaled , but recording is limited to 480/576 p.

Any ideas ?  Can it be done ?

Thread for all Usenet vs Torrent vs Rapidshare discussion

Does anyone ever worry about getting caught downloading the movies thats mentioned on these forums ? . In the U.K. a number of internet suppliers in conjunction with the B.P.I. sent out letters telling their customers to stop downloading movies and music , and some even supplied a list of "copyrite infringments " on each of the letters that was sent out . I was one of those people that got a letter advising me to stop ! ( actually it was my dad he pays the bills ) , my dad and i used to both download but no more !. Does anyone ever think this will happen to them ?.

The B.P.I. also tryed to get a number of internet suppliers to investigate their customers download history but most of them said no,as they said patrolling the internet wasnt their responsibility, well done those suppliers !.

I would love to be able to download most of the stuff on these forums but with my ip address being watched im pretty much fu**ed !.

Ady, are we close to getting Return Of The Jedi yet ?

No, unfortunately. I have taken on a bit too much at the moment so its likely to be a 2010 release.

:-(.  With all the exitment and praise at the Wookiegroomer blu ray releases i would like to thank Ady for all he still does for us !. Im a little disapointed ROTJ wont be until 2010 but i understand the work you have to do , and as you've promised NO HAYDEN it will be worth the wait . Now wheres my 2010 diary .

Star Wars Saga on Blu-ray (a joint venture project)
Time

How about making the films as close to the originals as possible?. I dont mean trimming every bit of the special editions away but all the pointless stuff like the extra snow creature scenes , Vaders return to his star destroyer , the pointless camera paning around the sand dunes in ROTJ . Is it possible to have the original   ending of Return Of The Jedi ?. Also insert the original Boba Fett's voice and "bring my shuttle " line back. Could something like this be done? .
