Double DAMN!

Another vote here for a high-bitrate mkv. I don’t need menus, special features or anything else other than the movie itself. Would be great to play the highest quality of ESB:R possible through my Nvidia Shield and I’m guessing more people here would prefer that over the blu-ray structure anyway. Just a suggestion.

That is absolutely laughable. JJ did a far better job making a Star Wars film than Rian Johnson could ever do. Then again, if you’re quoting James Cameron’s opinion of TFA there’s probably nothing I could ever say to get through to you.

As for Ivan’s edit, TLJ is an unmitigated disaster of a movie and I, for one, would welcome a fanedit that could make it even remotely watchable. At this point, however, I don’t know if it’s even possible to salvage such a trainwreck!

Wait, is the whole edit only going to have 2 channel stereo as the audio track? If so, that’s very disappointing news.

I just watched this and I have to say it pretty much addressed all the major issues I had with TLJ. You got rid of Canto Bight which was horrible, all the cringe inducing stuff between Finn and Rose, Luke lives at the end, he doesn’t toss his saber over his shoulder, the Leia Poppins scene is improved with Luke saving her, etc. This is definitely my favorite edit of the film so far. Good work!

How is that going to work? Is he going to have those guys dressed up as Luke and Kylo, then somehow insert them into the actual movie? That’s a helluva feat if he can pull it off and make it look realistic.

Ivan, you’re doing some amazing stuff with this edit. I really can’t wait to see the finished product because I think it could be fantastic. Great work, man!

Imperial March works wonderful with Vader’s Tantive entrance. Good work.

I hated the Maz scene too, but to say it was the only truly offensive thing in this movie is some serious FAKE NEWS!

Looking forward to seeing what the fan editors can do with this film. I know there’s potential for an enjoyable SW film in there, just not the cut I saw at the theater. 😦

Cut Laura Dern. Cut Po’s sitcom storyline. Cut Casino Planet. Cut Rose. Cut any mention of “fuel” or hyperspace tracking. Cut the wildly out of scale dreadnaught and stealth bomber. Cut the hyperspace rail gun.

Cut Leia’s spacewalk. Possibly kill off Leia in the bridge explosion. Finn didn’t do anything in this movie so I guess he’s be gone too.

Entire movie would be Rey training, Force Time calls with Kylo, Throne Room, Luke stuff at the end, Rey moving some rocks. Wipe to credits after Binary Sunset.

Yeah, as amazing as the final battle is in ANH:R I can only imagine how much better it will be in this next version.

My only suggestion for ANH:R this time around is that the colors aren’t so desaturated with regards to the Death Star. The interior shots and the exterior during the trench run almost looked like a black and white movie at times. I’m sure you’re well aware of that, though. 😉

Adywan, I don’t know if you’ll read this mixed in with the sea of other comments, but I just wanted to say Thank You. ESB is my favorite movie of all time and I always thought it was so perfect that it couldn’t be improved upon, but you managed to take perfection and make it even better. This is probably the only way I will ever watch ESB from now on(sorry, Harmy) and it was absolutely every bit worth the wait. Bravo, sir!!!

The Wampa accounts for what, 30-40 seconds of the movie? In the grand scheme of things I don’t think it’s going to make that big of a difference if he scraps what he had planned for it.

You will find a lot of that around here.
