It might be a cop-out, but I rate them all 10/10 because I tend to think of them as one long movie.

Hey.
Is this the best copy of the special…
…or is there better?
I know it does not contain some of the opening theme and the animated segment, but I already have a that stuff.
The latest release of the Gormaanda Hybrid on MySpleen is your best bet.
Also, welcome back. You’re an OT.com legend.

I’ll be watching the JSC on my Runco LJR-II.
Here’s most of what we’ve seen so far in chronological order: http://imgur.com/a/cKpEP
Unfortunately recent testing ahs shown that SSDs left on the shelf experience data corruption after a while, so they need powering up and refreshing, which is a pain.

Alternatively, a company can make a giant SSD dock that keeps them powered on and not much else.
Cool! I’m looking forward to it. Thanks, Jay!
My only gripe at the moment is that the private messages page only shows the sender rather than the recipient(s).
Due to the nature of the work I’m doing with poita, I have to send lots of PMs to people on the same topic, so I copy-and-paste the subject, but I can’t make a multi-user PM instead since these discussions often involve trading PII like addresses, etc.
At the moment I have to click every PM to look for correspondence with a particular user. I guess I can just use different subjects or put the recipient’s username in the subject, but that seems unnecessary since there’s more than enough space to include the everyone involved in the PM (senders and recipients) right there on the private messages page.
Holy shit.
Holy shit.
Holy shit.
PAT MAN IS BACK!!!
WELCOME BACK!
I’ve missed you.

Ha! Alright. Any chance we'll see any of these someday in a more space saving format?

Yes, I think so. ProRes 4444 cuts it down considerably and it's visually lossless if your eyes aren't as good as poita's are!

...do we want to just schedule a trip to the Air & Space? All DC-area OTers?
not opening night, but a little later?
I'm in. I want to meet some of you folk IRL.

Not sure that I really agree with Jedi. It certainly the weakest of the OT and not a great film by any means but it still holds a nostalgic place for a lot people. Frankly, I wouldn't want ROTJ:R to significantly depart from the Revisited goal of "what the special editions should have been" with any major narrative changes. If it does, I hope that a "Purist version" is at least provided.
I second this.

Anyone else experiencing problems with LUTs in Resolve?
I only checked in NukeX. I can try the Adobe one in Resolve when I get home.

ADC? Who? What?
...and what do you mean by custom? Do you mean a hybrid of the saga set/blue brick subtitles and fansubbed next-episode-previews and translation of the Japanese credits?
PM me for what ADC is.
In this case it's the R2 Dragon Ball Dragon Box release with English subtitles muxed in. I'm not sure of the source, but I imagine the subtitles are just re-timed from the blue bricks.
With that being said, I wouldn't be surprised if something significantly more elaborate was done given how ADC operates.

Thanks!
I can't believe I've managed to miss out on this thread. Well, I'm subscribed now! :o)
I have the Dragon Ball Dragon Boxes with custom English subtitles from ADC. I haven't watched it yet, but I'm looking forward to doing a re-watch soon.
Molly: Have you played with DrDre's color matching tool?
I know this is the wrong thread, but I hope someone here can help me.
There was a guy a few months (years?) back with a HDTV capture of the theatrical TPM on his DVR. Which thread was that in?
TWIST: Luke is a T-800.

Buck is present on every version we know about. The 16mm is the 1971 version.
Thanks. It's not on any of the home video releases though is it?
It's on the Laserdisc versions ('78 cut), at least.
poita and I agree that the 5TB Seagates we've been using are a bit too… sensitive… to send overseas for his master copy, so we've decided to use these as the backups.
With that being said, we now need more HDDs than was previously thought since we're going to use more reliable 4TB ones.
Please keep donation pledges coming in. Any help you can provide would be greatly appreciated.
Official IMAX Poster
I like it, but I'm pretty sure that texture is either wood or hair. You know what? It's hair. The whole thing is hair.

Does anyone actually know if there is any truth to the rumor that Disney is planning an official OOT release?
Not really, no. http://originaltrilogy.com/forum/topic.cfm/More-OUT-Rerelease-Rumors-from-John-Landis/topic/18219/

People were bickering about the then-forthcoming Revenge of the Jedi online on Usenet in 1982.
Would that still be archived anywhere?
Google Groups has the most complete archive, but the search is broken.
DejaDejaDeja.com has a much better search, but it's only 1981-1991.
Thank you, I've found a new way to waste my time. :P

I sometimes miss the days before the internet, when we could enjoy films for what they were. Nowadays, it's all "I hate the trailer. It doesn't have this. It doesn't have that. It's not like the Star Wars in MY head".
Do you mean the days before the internet or the days before the World Wide Web?
People were bickering about the then-forthcoming Revenge of the Jedi online on Usenet in 1982.
The World Wide Web, of course. (I can't imagine your average Joe using Usenet in 1982)
I agree with you. I was just being a pain-in-the-ass.
