Aha! Okay, I kinda cheated by looking it up, but it was who I suspected: Ted Bundy :( Sickos like him don't get into the OP. Besides, he converted to Hinduism on death row, so I have an easy excuse.

@Boost, now I can't help but wonder if you're cheating by looking them up. That said, I believe there is at least one other prominent serial killer (I'd have to look up who, since I've forgotten) who is Mormon. Another infamous example is Butch Cassidy.

JEDIT: Now I know you're not cheating because I tried to look up Shelton Young and can't find anything. Are you making that one up?

You caught me. ;-)

@ray_afraid, I will update when not at work. But how would you define them? According to Wikipedia, they at least started as a ska band.

Hmm.. they're hard to pin a genre label on.. And, yeah their first album had some ska... how 'bout "super-hero music group"? ;p

LOL...Sounds like a plan :) It's tough to edit from work, but I'll do so when I get home.

Their first few albums were ska-ish, but not the last few.  Almost new-wave if you ask me.

JEDI:  Just checked wiki and they are described as rock, punk, ska, new wave, and synthpop.

Adjusted.  Hopefully I got it right this time ;)

Well, I'll wait till we tally up a few more before I update it again, but I just watched the new Man of Steel trailer (very excited by the way), and Amy Adams is in it.  She was raised Mormon, though she is no longer practicing.  That also reminds me of another actor raised Mormon, but not currently practicing: Aaron Eckhart.

This video might interest you.

Johnny's a Mormon.
Not sure about H.R.Pufnstuf

However, in practice you must take into account the “fuckwit factor”. Just talk to Darth Mallwalker…

Whoa!  Can't update the OP because I have no idea who Johnny is or what that bizarre creature is next to him.  Give me a clue and I'll add an update.

I'm surprised Ken Jennings hasn't been mentioned yet. His winning streak on Jeopardy back in June-November 2004 earned him minor pseudo-celebrity status, after all.

Who is...Ken Jennings?

Not sure if you’re just being humorous using the Jeopardy format or if you in reality don’t know who he is.  If you don’t, he is the longest winning champion in Jeopardy and second biggest prize winner.  Some other champ defeated him in a Jeopardy special where champs face each other and won a big prize which made him the bigger winner overall in spite of the shorter streak.  My understanding is that the other guy quit while he was ahead, while Jennings kept coming back till he was first defeated.  Interestingly, he’s one of our relatively few Democrats.  But he’s pretty darn smart in spite of that lapse in judgment 😉  I’ll update the OP.

By the way, I hope my comment about Johnny and Pufnstuf wasn’t taken as rude.  I really couldn’t figure out the show (from my research, that doesn’t look like the real H. R. Pufnstuf), and there is no character or actor on the show named Johnny

No not rude . . . although I must admit I was hoping for a WRONG PICTURE! response meme.
It's Sigmund the sea monster.

Johnny played Jody, Buffy's brother.
Johnny was today's Tom Sawyer once upon a time...

Elaine Bradley (drummer for Neon Trees)

As well as the entire band of Neon Trees.

First post updated.

JEDIT: The lead singer, who came out as gay in recent years, still enjoyed being a member of the Church, but struggled with recent changes in policy and has since denounced his faith. To my knowledge, the rest of the band still considers themselves Mormon.

There was a recurring character on the Bob Newhart show, Norman the doorman. Quite a few episodes into the show, Norman announces he’s got plane tickets to go on a trip. Bob looks at his tickets and says, “Oh, I never knew your last name before. Corman. Norman Corman. The doorman.” Norman nods, and say how happy he is to finally get to see his brother, who’s usually very busy. He’s in construction, you see. “He’s a… foreman?” guesses Bob. Norman nods. He grabs his tickets, tips his hat, and says, “Okay, good-bye, off to Utah!”
