Please for the love of God put it on MYSPLEEN. I can only use MYSPLEEN for religious reasons.

I know that some of you youngsters think that the Internet began with the WWW and torrents, but you should really make the effort to learn about Usenet.
And Rob, thank you!!!

Yeah holy shit you guys, Usenet is not that difficult to configure.

Maybe someone can host it on BBS, or we can get an IRC listserv going. 😛

I don’t mind paying a few bucks now and then for access when I find something rare on there that is at risk of soon becoming too old to obtain, or will otherwise not be available by other sources. But I definitely have no intention of maintaining a monthly account with usenet providers. Has nothing to do with simplicity of figuring it out.
In the case of new, popular releases, I don’t think there’s anything wrong with patiently waiting (and politely requesting) access via other means that are not effectively behind pay walls. But I can see why it would go to usenet first of course.
You can use free connections for recently posted items, that’s what I do.
Did not know that. Figured that went away when ISPs decided stopped giving customers binary access 15 years ago.
There are also plenty of non-expiring block accounts (ie. 100gb of downloads for $15). Sometimes I’ll go years between Usenet downloads, and I’ve never lost credits.

You mean XDCC bot? 😉
(Believe me, I have several of them.)
Actually, I did an encode based on 1.5, but I think I’m going to stand back and wait for 2.0 before I make a new MP4.
"Right now the coffees are doing their final work." (Airi, Masked Rider Den-o episode 1)
I posted that mostly as a joke. But the fact remains that I don’t have money to spare for Usenet, especially since I’d only use it a few times. It’s not about difficulty. I also know I’m not the only one who would benefit from an official torrent. I would really rather not try to dig it up through some shitty re-encode on a public tracker like a month from now if there’s a possibility of a proper Myspleen release.
As a person living in a country where basically nobody including the ISPs know what usenet is I’d love to join the request for uploading it to ANY download server (uloz.to / mega / whatever), thanks for anybody who would do it. And thanks for Rob for finishing this … puppy
I should also throw my thanks in to Rob and the rest of the team. You guys are doing great work.
I’m poor.
some usenet providers offer one day subscriptions that cost about a dollar/euro
some may even offer free one day trials
Also: Rob, halleluja, you rock.
Thanks so much for this, your hard work is massively appreciated!
I’d like to join the voices calling for a try at myspleen (I realise it may be taken down quickly) but it’s gotta be worth a punt at least.
I signed up for a one week unlimited free trial (that doesn’t even require you give your credit card information) from http://www.pureusenet.nl/en, and I downloaded the free usenet client SABnzbd. With that, I was able to download this whole thing in about an hour with an average speed of around 10 Mbps without paying a cent.
Can someone please explain in excruciating detail how to use SABnzbd to download this specifically OR upload to Spleen or mega? I (and many others) would greatly appreciate it.

worked perfectly. I used NZBindex to find the file.

It’s on MySpleen now 😃.
Thanks for the info/link Density. The only free server I could find would only work at ~120k/s.
For those who still don’t want to or can’t try Usenet, take a look at spleen while its hot!
Also, it will be available on mega at some point in the near future, with links available via PM if you are interested.
Thanks again Rob. Hopefully you don’t have a problem with any of this.
Can’t wait to check this out, thank you for sharing it.

- Make sure you register with a usenet provider. If you don’t want to pay get a free trial from a service like the one I mentioned.
- Follow the instructions at the following link to set up SANnzbd and link it to your server:
http://wiki.sabnzbd.org/quick-setup- Go to a site called binsearch and search for “SSE.”
- Check the box next to what is currently the second link listed (should be about 36GB and say 1.6) and select “create NZB.”
- Open the NZB file you just created with SABnzbd.
- Wait for it to finish downloading, verifying, and unpacking.
- And you’re done.
That is the .par2, correct?
Either way, thank you so much!
