I was actually inspired by Mike Verta’s preliminary grading for this scene, although I reduced the brightness somewhat compared to Mike’s version.

Here’s my attempt:

Speeder Corrected
JEDIT: The yellows are a bit too saturated when uploaded to the web, so just imagine a slightly less saturated image here.

Although Dre’s version is the most balanced and saturated, Tatooine was intended to be a desolate wasteland.

IMO it’s a little bit too desolate. I think this is closer to the mark for me:

Perhaps you are right, and it should be more balanced.

Pretty-ish
I’m really reticent about ‘prettying up’ the image for the final product, however, since Mike’s preliminary correction is merely to get back to the color of the negative, not to retain the intentional color shifts of the final film. Every source I’ve seen that features Tatooine has had some sort of yellow-green in the shadows, with the sky tending towards red. An unnatural cast for sure, but I can’t shake that this is what was intended, especially since it seems to be only the Tatooine scenes that are affected.

You probably don’t recognize me because of the red arm.

Yeah, I think that looks much better. 😃

Yeah, I think that nails it pretty well.

All these are pretty good, but Neverar’s last attempt is stunning.

Hi all. I’ve been a member here for awhile but I don’t post all that much. I finally got all the links to all the 50gb versions of Harmy’s despecialized edition from the man himself (njvc) that made them. I previously only had the latest 25gb mkv files for all 3 movies. Now I just need to find the latest version for the Silver Screen edition. I have the original 1.0 25gb mkv release, but would love to get the new 1.6 ISO version with the menu’s so I can have a more complete looking bluray to add to my collection. I have been an avid Star Wars fan and collector since the movie came out in '77. I was 5 at the time and it consumed my childhood and still to this day I am a fan and avid collector of Star Wars merchandise, and am lucky to have my son share my passion with me. As I understand you need an invite to myspleen to be able to download this. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance to any that can help me out…

Last we heard, Mike is still trying to schedule such a meeting. As for interaction between him and NTN1, I think it’s safe to say that they’re not the closest of pals.

(I’ve posted something similar on myspleen, but in case anyone don’t answer that…)

Does anybody know if the ‘Castilian Spanish’ track in Harmy’s 2.7 would fit the Silver Screen v.1.6, or it would need a new sync?

Thank you very much in advance from a Spaniard.

The number of frames in the Silver Screen v.1.6 is the same as Harmys 2.7 and each frame from both editions have the same frame number. ( JEDI TRANSLATION: Both editions are GOUT sync’d to each other).

So, the answer to your question is yes—-all the audio options from Harmy’s 2.7 will play in perfect synchronization with the Silver Screen v.1.6 when muxed.
