kk650's Miscellaneous Regraded Films (Released) — Page 2

Nice looking Blade Runner regrade, kk650... your regrades of Mad Max 2 and The Terminator were also very welcome restorations.  How do you feel about Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan?  Is the BD's cooler color palette less appealing than the warmer DVD?

Kk650 I guess you wouldn't be interested in something like this, judging from the films you're tackling, but the King and I Bluray is really off!

It has a blue blanket all over it!

I do believe that there is already somebody else thats tackling this. I've never seen the King and I but I definately agree that the DVD looks much better, the blanket blue tint over the whole blu-ray is really not a good look at all...

Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan has the same problem that the King and I has, a strong blanket blue tint across the whole blu-ray. I definately prefer the look of the warmer UK director's edition.

I don't own the blu-ray but its usually going for pretty cheap so i'll try to check it out when I get the chance.

just saw this on myspleen. Will def. be downloading and seeding tonight.

I see you've done a regrade of the good the bad and the ugly. I'm sure there are a bunch of us that would love to see that up on myspleen also to see what you did with that horrible yellow tint. It def. would be appreciated.

I also second a vote for aliens.

Thanks for the awesome job you do fixing these movies.

I've never seen the D-Theater release so I have no idea how it looks or whether my regrade looks similar. I just removed the blanket green tint from the blu-ray like I did with Blade Runner.

If you burn it as a data file I don't see why you would have any problems, the size is well within the size limits of a bd-25.

I have the D-Theater Alien with the DTS cinema audio and it looks great as is.  I'm guessing that kk650's is the theatrical release?  I didn't read that far back in the thread, sorry.

The D-Theater is the Director's Cut.

The D-Theater is the Director's Cut.

The Alien regrade currently up on myspleen is the Theatrical Cut because as far as i'm aware, that is the cut most people prefer. If there's interest in the Director's Cut of Alien I can put that up as well.

Any time. It's always good to let you guys know that we do appreciate your hard work.

thanks again.

P.S. I just remuxed your Alien regrade with the DTS-HD MA, commentary and isolated score tracks from the blu-ray so this is now my definitive edition of Alien.

The difference between 'my definitive' and 'the definitive' is quite large Jonno, if that's what you're refering to.

Not really - it's all just opinion, regardless of the chosen pronoun/article.

We'll just have to agree to disagree on that.

Was wondering kj650 if you could do a regrade on the Dracula 79 Bluray bringing  back the colors of the original version before the Director decided to mess around with them and almost make them monochrome. I requested it over on another forum but didn't get a reply. Would think it would be a good project for your amazing skills.

Hey kk650 thanks for the uploads on spleen, i wish you had done the theatrical cut of Aliens, as i think the added colonist and newt's family scene don't add anything to the film.

I didn't mind them but honestly it's the sentry gun scene that makes the SE worth it.

I've had a look at the blu-ray screencaps for Dracula 79 on blu-ray.com and I believe it's too far gone, there is basically no colour to speak of in that transfer, no way to bring back the original colours using that transfer IMHO, you'd need access to the footage before it was graded.

I've been planning to create a regraded theatrical cut of Aliens for a while now, just for the sake of completeness really. You've given me a reason to finally go ahead and get that done :)

I love the scene where ripley asks about what happened to her daughter, I think it adds a extra dimension to her relationship with newt. The sentry gun bit is also great. I can see why you don't like the added colony scene and newt's family scene because it takes away from the suspense of finding out what happened to the colony.

Is anybody interested in a cut with the the added colony scene and newt's family scene is removed to maintain suspense about the fate of the colony but with all the other added scenes from the Director's Cut kept in?
