WOW!
what a blast form the past,I can't believe people still want these LOL.
I really need to go back and redo some of this stuff now that I have learned SO much more.

I'm starting to think the SC Collection may be a better option to clean up rather than the GOUT. The DVNR on that is a real killer.

^ That's probably a good idea. DJ, would you really do a new transfer?

I have been tossing it around.
I would like to redo some of them and this time IVTC the video and make anamorphic.

I would like to redo the Pan and scan set,the Special Edition,and possibly this set.

Hmm... maybe your SE set, should you redo it, could help Max Rebo with his special-edtion hybrid source preservation set.

Yes dark jedi, people still want theses. I love the OT. I grew up on it. It kills me to no end that we may never see a decent release of OT.
After watching the short clip on the first page of this thread of r2. I was blow away by the detail. I have not seen the dvds yet but after that, I can't wait. I know they may not be prefect but it is better than the gout.
I plan on buying the JSC laserdisc and see if I can get some one to capture it for me in the comeing months.
I wonder if it is hard to put the audio comentary from the DC on there. IMO the JSC is the best verison for Preservation effort.
So darkjedi I ask, Please do a V2. I bet it could be alot better.

Does anybody still have these or any other JSC transfers, and could post them on a.b.sw?

They're there, since October.
Search Dark-Sega with a hyphen instead of a slash.

Arnie.d V8 is there too since 578 days. Holler back if your provider doesn't offer that much retention.

I found them, repeat, I found them.

I had been searching for "Special Collection" and "JSC". Thanks for pointing me on the right track.

Don't get your hopes up to high, these early versions are not that great, they are 4:3 letterbox, interlaced, I believe no alien subs(in English anyways)I have learned SO much since the release of them "old" versions.

ROTJ is re-posted by request. ESB tomorrow

But wait there's more, at no additional cost
you'll also receive Mallwalker's IVTC script for AviSynth.

usage tips:
-Use DGIndex
-Don't use 'Force Film'
-Open Dark-Sega *.VOB files
-Save Project as "Dark-Sega Ep6.d2v" (or else edit the script)

The script returns a silent "ntsc_film" clip, which is GOUT-sync'ed.
It does the manual IVTC method, using only doubleWeave() and selectEvery(10,)
Whenever film frames are missing from the source (think reel change-overs) the script inserts blackness() to maintain GOUT sync.
Often the source is missing one field of a frame. Then the script will weave() a black field.
In some cases it might be preferred to bob() those fields, but that's beyond the script's scope.

Scrubbing is painfully slow with frame-number displays enabled (default.)
Read the comment at the bottom if you don't know how to turn them off.
Use a fixed-width font to view/edit the script. You've been warned!

Mallwalker, do you have a script for anh?

If I had some gum, I’d chew a hole into the sun…

I didn't, but I do have now.

This one comes with a few caveats:

--- 31 frames are repeated from Side1 --> Side2, so you'll want to black-out 31 frames.

--- 48 frames are repeated Reel02 --> Reel03. I cannot tell you which 48 to blacken (or which 31.) You make the call. I chose not to decide.

--- frame 688:
http://img441.imageshack.us/img441/4198/688c.th.png
It's the frame before the title card appears. It's mostly black, except for splicing glue along the bottom edge.
Somewhere between 672-687 there's a change in pulldown cadence, and one frame gets repeated (or two fields repeated.) All those frames are black, so it's hard to know exactly where the pattern changed. I decided to keep the glue as 688, and discarded the frame before it. Some people don't like glue....

^^^Yes, I found a bug.

My script had omitted this field:
http://img341.imageshack.us/img341/6136/52759.th.png

If you got the script and want to fix it, here's how.
First replace this line:

c52757 = trim(cBlackFilm, 0,-3) # last_frame=52759

with these:

c52757 = trim(cBlackFilm, 0,-2)
c52759 = \
unalignedSplice(trim(separateFields(trim(cSource, 66342,-1)), 1,-1) \
, trim(separateFields( cBlackVideo ), 2,-1) \
).weave.assumeFPS("ntsc_film")

And then this
cReel04 = cReel04 + c44469+c44470+c52756 + c52757+c52760 # last_frame=55747
becomes
cReel04 = cReel04 + c44469+c44470+c52756 + c52757+c52759+c52760

If you don't like the Weave() look, then you might try something fancy
like NNEDI() for example, to interpolate the missing field....
