I always have some very fond memories about this Walt Disney production. Alas, there are still no decent dvd available. I bought the uk zone 2. Image format is 2.35 but like Star Wars OT, it isn’t an anamorphic transfer. The picture is very grainy too. And zero bonus, not even a trailer.

Does this film has been aired on tv recently? Is there any hope to get a better copy somehow?

I would love to see this...I wonder if Dark Jedi could help you out with the steps necessary to convert this to NTSC Anamorphic...not sure if he's done that with any other projects though...

That must be the dvd released by Anchor Bay a few years ago. It's NTSC allright, but it's a single layer dvd with no anamorphic transfer. It's currently out of print too.

I agree. I love this film too. It is a real shame that there is no decent release and that there are no extras for it floating about anywhere.

There were 3 Condorman comics produced to tie in to the film. One and two are just the story of the film but the third is a brand new Condorman adventure (allbeit not a very good one) featuring the villians from the film and a whole new array of Condorman gadgets.

These turn up on ebay every now and again.

That's great news!

I'm glad that I'm not the only one interested in a decent dvd of this film.

The three comic books would be a really great addition as a bonus in a gallery features.

Nice one sheet, never seen that before.

It is the european poster. Here is a high-res version of the picture

That would make a great dvd cover don't you think?

I suppose I ought to jump in here...

Vandal, if the disc you have has a name starting with MTHR, and the audio is a bit low, then it was done by me a few years ago. (NFO here.)

Now, in accordance with our forum rules this cannot be classed as a preservation, as the movie has had an official DVD release. It also cannot be called a fan edit, as all I did was convert the picture into anamorphic and run it through a grain filter. Therefore, please do not publically discuss the distribution of this disc here.

Besides, the Anchor Bay 2002 DVD and the recent Disney UK Zone 2 release are really poor transfers, so I don't see the point at using them as sources for a dvd preservation.

This project is only interesting if we manage to get our hands on a much better transfer. I was hoping for some recent tv airing captured with a dvd recorder or even some hdtv sources (my expectations are a bit high, I know). But I remember watching the film a couple of years ago on french television and it was much better than the crappy dvd's availables.

I never knew there was a UK DVD release in 2006! I will have to take a look, even if it's an NTSC upscale it's likely to be better than my bootleg copy of the Anchor Bay release.

But yes, if a better transfer ever airs on TV (in SD or HD) then I'd love to see someone grab the stream. Even if it's a foreign dub, it should be a simple task to replace the audio with the English soundtrack from the DVD.

Talk about resurrecting an old thread....  Has anyone seen this Condorman clip from youtube?  It's not anamorphic but it is the best quality I have ever seen this look.  Assuming it is from a German broadcast.  Sadly can't find any other information.  Any ideas?

The dvd quality is dire, however I am in the process of cleaning the footage up and upscaling it using AI, it takes about 8 to 10 hours on a beefy graphics card to do. If I can do it for my own personal use, so could Disney as they have deeper pockets and probably access to better technology and the original film footage so I don’t understand why Disney gives Condoreman no love. The dvd has a lot of lines and flickering and distortion. I’m hopeful that AI can clean the footage up so it’s at least watchable
