The only DVD release to date has the 76 minute Director's Cut instead. You can also find this version on Netflix and Amazon Instant Video. However, the theatrical cut, released in 1995 (and also on VHS) is a longer cut, at 90 minutes. This release restores those 14 minutes removed, and maintains its widescreen aspect ratio (1.78:1).

I've posted it on MySpleen. For those interested, look for it on there (my username on there is the same as here, or just search for Gumby, since that doesn't yield many results to begin with).

Hope you enjoy this reconstruction...

Nice work!

I will be seeding this for the foreseeable future. Thanks!

Any chance of this being uploaded to a non-torrent site?  I'd love to see it as this was one of my favorite childhood films!

Bumping this thread to tell you all that NCircle will be releasing the film on Blu-ray/DVD combo pack:

According to the runtime, it seems it will be the theatrical version.

Further confirmation comes from a listing on Amazon Instant (with NCircle listed at the Studio) with a runtime of 88:36 (it still missing the Warner Vision logo though).

The theatrical cut can also be viewed on Amazon for anyone who has Amazon Prime. It’s the one listed as The Gumby Movie.

Edit: Nevermind. It’s not the full edit. The hospital scene is there but the scene of the group arriving at the barn and setting up before their first jam is cut. There’s probably more cuts but this is what I’ve noticed so far.

The version I’m currently watching on Amazon Prime has the same run time yet I so far noticed one scene is still missing! The scene where everyone first arrives at the barn and Gumby’s band sets up before their first jam. It cuts from the end of the scene where the group decides to have benefit concerts right to the jam!

Well I did message NCircle and got this response. Seems like a good sign!

'The Gumby Movie has all the scenes intact. Yes there was a little tightening from them driving from the farm to the jam session. Very slight, and done for pacing. Instead of showing them drive up to the farm, it cut right to the jam. There is a big scene in there that was not in the original VHS, so the fans are getting the best ever. All the big scenes that were deleted before are back in this version. Plus this is the first time it’s ever been on Blu-Ray in full High Definition.

I hope that answers your question. We are very excited for the Blu-ray/DVD combo in special packaging to hit retailers soon!’
