Battlestar Galactica "Saga" re-edit online (tos) (Released)

 (Edited)

Just uploaded the torrent to demonoid.com. Go there and search for “battlestar” and you should find it.

The file is 3.06 gig, and saved as an ISO disk image, so to view it you will need to burn it to a dvd. Then you should be able to play it in a standard DVD player. Most DVD burning software has an option to “burn disk image”. Use that and it should do the trick.

On the disk it the re-edit movie, the raw FX I edited in, and the “Sentinels” trailer I did some time back. Figured it was somewhat appropriate as it is a spin-off from the original timeline.

I know not all of the requests and alterations are in that people had asked for, but I hope you enjoy what I did with it. The biggest change, or addition, is definately to the Colony destruction. You’ll definately see other changes.

Lastly I ask for anyone who downloads, please let the file seed for some time. This is a bigger file than the others, so the more people keeping the file online, the faster it will download for others. When it gets down to the point where I’m the only one seeding for quite some time, then I’ll figure it is time to remove the file. But as long as others are seeding, I’ll keep the file on.

All the best,

Dave

Is it based on the movie or the pilot?
I mean, does Baltar die, and does Apollo explain the origins of the Cylons?

I am not a member of demonoid. Could someone put it on myspleen or another site as well?
Once I have it I am willing to seed for an extended time.
Can someone help?

It is based on the original 3 hour tv movie. At least it was 3 hours with commercials. With the edit/alterations the commercial free runtime is around 2 hours and 26 minutes, if I remember correctly. Baltar does not die, Apollo explains the Cylon origins, and no Jimmy Carter to inturrupt at the last moment (for those old enough to remember).

I'm glad people seem to have good memories and look forward to something from the original Battlestar Galactica. It was not the end all of science fiction, but if you read the press about the current Battlestar, it always rips the original apart as a complete camp-fest. Myself, for the late 1970's, I thought it was pretty good, and surprisingly dark premise. They tried to take it somewhat serious. The new one is its own thing, but I wish they could build their own praise without having to tear the original down.

Now Buck Rogers from that same time, that was campy. Purposely so.

Thanks to Glen Larson for all of that campy goodness : Battlestar, Buck, Knight Rider.

I've adapted the offical cover. I'm no cover expert but I figured takers on this would be few and far between, so I gave it a go. I enjoyed the edit a lot BTW.

Love the cover, and really glad you enjoyed the edit.

I plan to release my other re-edits at some point as ISO images. Earlier on I went for smaller file size with the xvid avi, but it seems people are willing to put up with bigger downloads for better quality. Will certainly post here when I do.

I was watching the other things on the disc. The Animated story... is that done? Where would one sign up to obtain a copy of that. It looks very interesting.

I did an online comic book story to that, however it is not online right now, as far as I know. The trailer was done afterward to go with the comic story. Would be nice to do at some point though.

Hello, I've been trying to get ahold of these edits for the last little while, but I can't seem to find any other way to get them than on demonoid. Could someone send me an invite code or something. Any help would be greatly apreciated.

Well, ya gotta make an e-mail address available...

Actually, I was wrong about needing the e-mail addy. Thought it would forward the invite directly to you--instead it realizes on the user to pass on the code and info to the wannabe site joiner. Check your PMs.
