I was not sure where to put this but I know it has to be shown.
The hard work that some do here and share for FREE, is being sold by others.
I know we had some issues with sellers on eBay, but now these edits and preservations are being placed in other locations to try and escape those who turn them in.

yes we ALL know TR47 is the fucking dick behind these,what an ASS,making $ of stuff Cassidy and I put together,it would be different if the peterpuffer did the work himself,I see 3 of our works in his listing,what a damn lowlife bottom feeding prick,but you know,I believe someone at Spleen is helping him get these projects,thats why there will be no more(Dark\Cassidy) work there,but I will upload for other people,like my buddy Meedermow.

I've found my stuff on eBay before and encouraged everyone I knew that had an interest to report. Didn't do jack, but it was worth the shot, 6 people reported one auction.

Cassidy and I havnt gone anywhere,we will just no longer be posting what we are working on or "maybe" releasing,hell we have a couple things going now,so we are still around,we did NOT quit.

I've noticed sometimes that when you ask a seller a question, it shows up on the Ebay page. Is this automatic, and can the seller delete it? Because it would be a good idea to have someone "ask" if they know that the DVD can be had for free from OT.Com. Either that, or email all the buyers and let them know.

The seller can add the question and answer to their listing if they desire,otherwise it won't show up. It's best to just report it and maybe contact the bidders will info on getting it elsewhere.

eBay listing have gone well so far after we all went to town on reporting.I know I reported a ton and finally saw the auctions stop being listed.
I only wish though that eBay would remove the seller as well.I mean, they are being told they are selling illegal shit, so why does eBay still keep them selling other goods?

Sorry to see others making such a profit off others.
Whats really funny though, is that on the Rad DVD, it says in the beginning it is not for resale and a fan preservation.
Maybe these edits and preservations need to have FBI type warnings but the creators warnings just so those who do buy them see that they paid for something they could get for free.

What about watermarks? I know, ew watermarks...but still, I suppose they'll make this easier to spot...

What I did that got eBayed was a musical, that I subtitled. Someone pointed me to the page, and lo and behold, I saw my very distinctive style of subtitle typesetting on every one of the screenshots. This despite a prominent "Not for sale or rental" bug during the opening.

Sheesh.

WookieGroomer's split screen set has warnings during the beginnings and during the middle of his projects.

TR-47 can do whatever the hell he wants with what he worked on. But it really is low class to sell stuff that others have done for the purposes of distributing freely. Stuff like this just hurts the community. Next thing you know, he'll be selling these off a table at little comic book conventions. In fact, I would not be surprised he isn't already doing that.

I've had a bunch of friends say, "Dude, you can set up your own table at Wondercon." I wouldn't have any of that because these aren't my movies to sell. I've given away dozens of copies of various projects to friends at no cost. I just made about 30 copies for a friend of mine of various projects. He handed me a spindle of blanks and a list. When my club ad a table at Wondercon, we ran Deleted Magic, Building Empire, and Returning to Jedi. I had a few people ask me how to get them. I said visit originaltrilogy.com read the forums, and never pay for them.
There's good in the Original Trilogy, and it's worth fighting for.

seems to me that he is trying to get back at members of this site and mods by selling stuff because of his banning.

I believe ocpmovie did something similar.

Insanity, I appreciate the heads up, but I've removed the direct links. I know you were only intending to draw attention to this, but by providing direct links it is a form of free advertising for him.

We are well aware of TR47's business activities, which is why he was banned from this forum. Ocpmovie didn't advertise on sell.com or ebay, but he was found to be selling discs via email so was therefore also banned.

Does he actually do any of his own stuff? I thought even the TR-47 trilogy set turned out to have been done by somebody else and not by him. What projects had he actually done on his own?

If anybody at Lucasfilm is reading this board, please understand the main difference between the Fans-for-Fans editors/preservationists vs. the opportunist dickholes who capitalize on the hard work of those who intended for the work to be free.

Go after assholes like this first. We're the ones purchasing your products (over and over). Those are the pirates.

As for the rest of us, put a world of hurtin' on anybody caught profiting off these projects. The profits belong to the copyright holders, official distributors and nobody else. Whatever we do is intended for small scale and for those who have actually bought the titles off the shelf.

TR-47 Selling Star Wars

I know most of you kids don't give a damn about anything besides Star Wars, which is why I bring this up.

Here's a link of DVD's TR-47 is selling which includes everything from Deleted Magic (karma is a bitch, btw) to Jambe's stuff...it's disgusting.

Maybe I can spell it out for you guys - when people like this are facilitated, they threaten to wreck this hobby for all of us. Think about it. You are not legally entitled to any of this material, despite what you may fool yourselves into thinking or saying to make yourself feel better. At the end of the day we're allowed to exist because fan edits and preservations are pretty much under the radar, but when scum start selling edits, that brings attention to us. Bad attention.

So, when you see this sort of thing, take action. Apathy can kill all of this.
