Why doesn't Sean wookie actually contribute anything to the community?

Hi everyone,

I've been lurking here for years and I've never posted anything until today. I've always wondered one thing: Why is Sean wookie so worthless he can't even spell the word "wookiee" correctly? I've been following him in his desperate attempts to get a girlfriend for almost 9 years, as a 14 year-old who didn't have a friend  in the world, through-out multiple sites (Including PsychoDayv's mangler forum(I still can't believe that ever existed) and Fanedited.net) and all of his autistic cross-forum posts we pretty fucking annoying. Remember the the time he left the forum? None of you might, but I do.

(I started this a a joke, but I think I just depressed myself into a coma)

Hmmm, a girlfriend you should get. Improve your mood, it would.

The thing is I have a girlfriend. I'm talking to her right now on Skype. I met her on OKCupid.

Oh cool.

OKCupid always looked like a decent site. Never really used it myself.

We had talked on Skype for a bit, but the distance seemed like too far(about an hour) neither me or her drive so it didn't seem like a very good  chance. about 2.5 weeks roll around I get a message from her, we start talking again, and we end up going for our first date on Halloween.

Ow Sean.

Your very presence lightens my day.

Your interest in all things pony shaped and brightly coloured is the stuff of legend.

Sean Wookie has the distinction of being the only forum member I've met in real life, and he is pretty cool. I kind of regret not making a point to hang out with him more during the time we lived only half an hour away from each other. He totally introduced me to geocaching, which I've never done again since, but it is cool to be able to say I've done it. The other day some co-workers were talking about it, and I was able to say, "Yep, I've done a bit of that back in my day." (or something slightly less douchey).

I feel like Sean always played the forum younger brother role. Always coming around asking for advice. I've actually learned a lot from him over the years too, believe it or not. Even somethings that I was able to put into practical use in relating to some of my students back in my old teaching days. I'm glad he has been around, my OT.com experience wouldn't have been the same without him. And I like it when he pops back in and posts new stuff, it's always nice seeing the "faces" of members who have been here as long as, or in this case, longer than me.

The majority of us here in off topic have never contributed anything real to this forum. What of it? I made my own non-Star Wars related preservation once, of which a total of four people over the course of two years wanted (all of which registered just so they could pm me their request and were never heard of again, so it wasn't even a contribution to this community), and I've done a few pay-it-forwards, beyond that, which is nothing, I have no reason to be here if the criteria for being here is being productive and "contributing" to the community.

Oh yeah, and I never even realized he misspelled "wookiee" until just now.

If you post, you contribute.  Otherwise none of us would come here.  That's real enough for me.

Pretty much this.

All I "contribute" is stupid posts and unsolicited advice.

I know the feeling.

Except I did post a lot of pruneface pictures. That was my moment of glory, folks.

Posts like this make me sad.  I know I can tease sometimes, but I really wish even all the unfamiliar folks on the other side of the Net or world the best.  I don't think my words would be as effective as CP3S's, but let me tell you a few things.

First, Wookiee was often originally spelled exactly as you spelled it, and it was not canonized until 1980 I believe.  Furthermore, who cares if you spelled it wrong.  Don't let people be jerks to you.

Second, I never ever found you annoying.  If you like My Little Pony, that's a little different for me, but that's fine.  People make fun of me for being so into Star Wars.  You are an individual with the right to enjoy whatever you like.  Your posts never annoyed me.  I appreciate a man who wants to be a gentleman.  You may have noticed that I'm stricter in standards than most of the other guys around here, and thus push for waiting till marriage for sexual relations.  However, I understand the world I'm in, and I appreciate a man who doesn't just rush at a woman.

I noticed you hadn't been around for a while.  My time here hasn't been as long as yours, but it seems you've been around less than here.  I recall you popping in with your thread with the candy fetus thing that offended Frink and me for different reasons and started the abortion debate in earnest.  I noticed you didn't come back for a while and only recently have been commenting again.  I just chalked your absence up to the typical passing interest most have in these sites.  Many have active and passive moments on these sorts of forums.  But you were indeed noticed.

Don't take us too seriously.  You are a worthwhile person, a unique individual, and your contributions on this forum, while important, are nothing compared to your contributions in life.  As Katy Perry says, "You don't have to feel like a waste of space; you're original--cannot be replaced."  (I'm not her biggest fan, but that song has a nice meaning).  Stick around Sean, and know that regardless of your religious feelings, I believe you are a child of God.

Depression can be serious shit, so I always take it seriously because I know that a lot of times people don't, and then bad things happen and good people die.

D_E makes good points even if they are a little overly PC and touchy-feely. Irregardless, just know we got your back esé.

I agree with you.

I wish that I could just wish my feelings away...but I can't.  Wishful wishing can only lead to wishes wished for in futile wishfulness, which is not what I wish to wish for.

PC?  Touchy feely perhaps, but I wasn't trying to be too PC.  Ah well.  It's true, I take this stuff very seriously.  I know I tease certain fellows (certain people who demonstrate their counting skills come to mind), but I am very concerned about people's wellbeing.  I don't know anyone here personally, and therefore I err on the side of caution in cases like this.  Glad to hear you're really not so depressed, sean.

I've been to the hospital 4 times in the last 2.5 years due to depression, maybe I used the wrong word, maybe I should have just said down.

I like ponies, they are happy, and represent kindness, something that I hope to take into my actions in real life.
