Whaddya say we get to know each other a little?

I've been on this forum for quite a while (a little over four years now; my, how time flies!), but I still don't know the majority of you very well, so I thought this would be a good place for us to get to know each other a bit better? What do you guys do for a living? If you're a student, what kind of stuff are you studying?

I'll start: I am currently nearing the end of my second year at the University of Alabama, and I'm majoring in physics with a minor in astronomy (and I'm also thinking about taking a second minor in mathematics, if they'll let me).

You don't have to participate if you don't want to, obviously. :P

I'm a 20-year-old college student.  I go to Columbia College Chicago, but I'm from northwest Indiana (only about 45 minutes away from Chicago, though).  I'm majoring in film editing, and am finishing my sophomore year in three weeks.  And this semester has been far too long.

It seems like there are several film students on this board, but I guess that's to be expected, considering that this place is pretty much a haven for fan edits. Hell, I was going to be a film student, but somehow I'm now studying physics instead. I know, I'm not quite sure how that happened either.

30 year old happily married man here. Had my first baby last year, greatest thing in life so far. I work full time as a police officer in the DFW Metro area of Texas. I have been a police officer for 9 years and was a jailer for 3 years before that. I love guitar, old country music, bluegrass, and politics. I am your typical Texan; headstrong, independant, freedom loving, a supporter of gun rights, and the death penalty. My hobbies include collecting guitars, rhinestoned suits (Nudie & Manuel), collecting exotic skinned cowboy boots, Cadillacs, computers, collecting music, and reading law related stuff. I'd like to go back to college and be a lawyer someday, but that idea is getting harder to achieve. I have about 15 hours of college, but I was so wound up to be a cop in my younger years that I completely laid my education to the side to go the Academy and get a badge. I come from a family of cops; Dad, Mom, two brothers, and a cousin all on the job, so it seemed only natural to do it, still comes easy. I am very proud of my Texas heritage which goes all the way back to 1764, my family came here from Mexico and stayed. My ancestors hepled settle Texas, fought for its independance (and one for Mexico, he was the black sheep), fought in the Civil War (SOUTH!), had a couple of Texas Rangers in the lineage.

Well, I guess this had to come out sooner or later...

My name is George W. Lucas Jr., I am 64 years old, and I am from  California, and... uh... hell, I am like a god to you guys, you worship my creations, I am sure you all have read my biography and know all there is to know about me, so I really don't need to say anything more.

Hi my name is Sean Akers. I like to imagine murdering people in awful ways. I listen to Nine Inch Nails and used to admire John Lennon. I'm learning to play guitar and am borrowing a Epiphone Sg Special from my brother. I get told I look like Jack Black a lot. I belong to a union. I am a liberal who is a strong supporter of gun rights and the legalization of drugs. I always wanted to try LSD. I've only smoked pot once. I support piracy. I point out sex offenders that come in the store to people I work with. I believe The Daily Show is a credible news source. And I want to be exploded after I die.

Used to admire John Lennon? Have you forsaken the great Lennon?

Exploded? Dude, that is awesome! Is there some place that offers that service? Sounds like a brilliant alternative to cremation.

I have now thought long and hard about this (gave it a good 3 minutes) and I have decided that I too would like to be exploded after I die (but not a moment sooner, if it can be avoided).

I admire Trent Reznor now for his musical talent and corpse exploding is awesome.

I want to be put through an Intrinsic Field Remover once I die.

Unfortunately, they've not been invented yet.

Damn! Because that would be cool too.

Hopefully somebody will invent one before your time comes Chalts. It'd suck to die and not be able to accomplish your dream. Perhaps they can cryogenically freeze your corpse until the intrinsic field dampener is invented, in the event it still hasn't been by the time you need it.

I feel lucky exploding has already been invented, I don't have to deal with the complications you do.

I don't really care how I die, as long as I go down screaming "There's too many of them!"

I probably will, but it'll be at the end of a bar lined with empty bottles.

I didn't know they even sold milk in bottles anymore.

The name's bkev, dudes.  I'm only a lad of 15, but I've been around the 'net for quite some time now.  As obvious, I enjoy Star Wars.  I'm techincally from Philadelphia, but I've lived 13 out of my years in Los Angeles.  Not too fond of it, but I gotta admit a lot goes on.  I'm a sophomore in high school.  The one thing I like about living right on the west coast is the beach - one of my favorite places to be.  So yeah, hopefully I've shared something you guys didn't know.

Meh, Hot Rod, I'll let that comment slide so long as you make sure Jarvis Cocker stays over there. :P

haha...Jarvis Cocker...Now there's a fad that lasted all of 3 songs. Although he was very entertaining to watch, he became quite annoying after a while, and now he's just a dull boring man...You can have him!!

A shout out to the geezas!

In a few months, I'll be able to walk around saying, "I'm thirty-seven.  I'm not old." Just don't call me an old woman or I'll lecture you about autonomous collectives.

Other than that, I'm a religious dumpy white guy who loves American football, hates soccer and likes Star Wars and not a lot of other fantasy or sci-fi.

And... I've been thinking about ditching the Sluggo tag for a while, but I think it is too engrained to drop.
