On Clerks II’s official website there is the Making of a Train Wreck Production Diaries that I would love to see get a multi disc Preservation project. The Clerks II DVD is only getting the “Best 10 Wrecks” out of well alot. Anyone wanna make this preservation project? Hope to see someone say yes.

When the movie comes out, I believe it is Best Buy that will carry a bonus disc featuring many more Train Wrecks. Either them or Circuit City.

You could also tackle a preservation yourself, all of the featurettes are still on the website.

I used to be very active on this forum. I’m not really anymore. Sometimes, people still want to get in touch with me about something, and that is great! If that describes you, please email me at [my username]ATgmailDOTcom.

Hi everybody. You’re all awesome. Keep up the good work.

1. Actually Wrong on both stores,Suncoast/FYE/etc. Will have a bonus disc, but it will only have 15 more train wrecks according to the front of the case there(I have a friend that works there)

2.I would make a preservation if ....
A.I could download files/videos/etc
B.Had a DVD Recorder

Could someone please make a Preservation project featuring all 83 Train Wrecks in the order they were put up? Please. Please.

I intend to get to them eventually. I've got them all saved, along with the stuff that was put up exclusively at IGN and YouTube, and the Inaction shorts, and a bunch of pre-release TV press stuff. I plan on making a big Clerks II supplementary package, I just don't have the time/hard drive space at the moment.

How long might it take to make the project? AND how long might it take to get the time? After the holidays maybe? Thanks Rev and hope to see the project soon. Oh and a update on the Bonus Disc and sticker.

My friend corrected himself and said the Bonus Disc includes 5 Train Wrecks. And also a VH1 Special and a Music Video. So now I wanna see that project even more. Circuit City is getting a comic, and Best Buy is getting a "Mooby's Happy Meal Box" for those wondering.

Well, I'm glad it includes the VH1 special, as my recording is incomplete.

I'll probably be able to get to this sometime in the new year, it'll probably be done sometime in February. I've just gotta find the time/mental energy to take it on. Lotsa file conversion involved.

I just downloaded a bunch of them off of Demonoid a few days ago. Search for "trainwreck." It's a 2.76 gig torrent with 79 videos.

Just to correct him again, according to Newsaskew.com it does include 10 Train Wrecks:

Those of you wondering which ten Train Wrecks are OFFICIALLY included on the disc, here's the title rundown: "Revenge of the Mullet", "Day One", "Meet the Crew with Jason Mewes - Part 1", "The Tongue Song", "Lights...Camera...Tongue!", "The Good, The Bad, and the Man", "The 8-Minute Standing O", "Elements and Layers", "Love the Camera", and the train wreck we had the excitement of being on-hand for, "Call 911" (we spotted ourselves for a fleeting second in the background, hard to miss standing next to Ming and his bright yellow winter coat -- It sure was cold that day). You'll again find a special hidden Train Wreck if you click carefully around this menu.

The Train Wrecks are wonderfully presented with the option to watch them in one straight shot, along with a Mosier/Smith intro. In the intro, the guys explain the concept behind the video series, and reveal these are their TEN FAVORITE of the episodes. So, click one key and sit back for a walk down memory lane (for those of you who watched online) or a brand new look at some great behind-the-scenes (if for some crazy reason you missed the series online). The entire segment, with intro, runs a whopping 51 minutes. Keep in mind, music permissions are just way too costly to get for DVD release, so these "wrecks" feature all new music in them (with the internet, the guys could pretty much take any track they wanted to score the scenes together. So if they sound a bit different than you remember, that's why.

So, I would love to see a preservation of the complete set of Train Wrecks.

Still stands. I've got all of the official Train Wrecks, a few things that were exclusively posted to IGN, a few things that were exclusively posted to YouTube and also other relating clips, like Rosario and Trevor on late nite interview shows. That'll all be on the set when I get around to making it.

Thumbs up...the fye bonus disc was pretty lame. If anyone got it, it actually duplicates a Train Wreck from the DVD itself, which is incredibly stupid seeing as the bonus disc, in theory, wouldn't be ever sold without the set.

I've never done a preservation or anything like this (other than for myself using terrible quality sources) but I'm busy dl-ing the train wrecks for the 3rd time now (I had them all downloaded back as they were coming out, then ended up having to clean my HDD, then downloaded some again, and this will be my 3rd time downloading them)

I've also got all the episodes of Kevin Smith's MTV-U online-only show "Sucks Less with Kevin Smith"

The only problem is that both of these are less than DVD quality - Sucks Less is 320 x 240 (I think) and Train Wrecks are 560 x 420

edit: just downloaded all the QT videos from the site and there are only 80 videos (3 of the 83 posts did not include videos) - the folder is 2.76 GB

Anyone know of the best way to go about transferring these to DVD with as minimal quality loss as possible?

It looks like I'll be making this a 2 disc double layer thing, in chronological order of their upload - I'm able to fit 40 vids per 8.5 GB dvd without any quality loss - I'm kinda at my wits end trying to make a decent DVD menu in Nero

Could I get the Sucks Less files from you somehow? Or are those still available online? I still plan on doing my own set of this at some point. I don't know if 2 DL discs is necessary for the content.

In addition to the Train Wrecks at Clerks2.com, there was an IGN-exclusive one and a YouTube-exclusive. There was also another interview video from around the time at some point tat was a pseudo-Train Wreck. In addition to all that, after the movie came out on DVD, there were a few "Lost Tales" released at QuickStop Entertainment.com. Ideally, the set should include all that too.

Sadly the sucks less files are in *shudder* FLV format and pretty low res (320x240) - I was able to put them on one single layer disc (as well as some very very short extras from the series)

I just got back from the store to pick up dual-layer dvds but said f*** it when i realized for a pack of 25, it's 65 bucks...

So I picked up two packs of 50 of the on sale brand for 2.99 a pack of single layer dvdr

Would it matter if I rendered this as a double layer, then used dvdshrink to make it fit a single layer dvdr? or should I just make this a 4 disc set?

you should never use dvdshrink. if you are adamant about getting them to 2 SL discs, you should use CCE with many passes at least 3 to 5, up to 9 passes for best quality. i am sure people wouldnt mind 4 SL discs though

Cinema Craft Encoder. It is used in conjunction with DVD Rebuilder. It takes your whole disc and shrinks it down to single layer while using CCE as the encoder. The best way to reencode a DL DVD down to SL. I have been amazed at the results. CCE is a pay program however.
