Alright, there are many elements/opportunities that the prequels missed and seeing how this is forum on PT rewrite, I want to go over them.
Here's my personal list that I plan to use:
1) Technological difference between the OT and the PT rewrites. We see this is in things, like ship designs and whatnot, but in the actual PT, we don't really see it that well as everything is so clean and tip-top when compared to the dirt of the OT.
2) Tarkin and Dooku in the same trilogy. Both are sophisticated and powerful gentlemen and can work well off each other and/or against each other when pitted against each other in the Clone Wars. It would do well to commemorate their actors, who were good co-workers friends. Plus, it'd be Van Helsing vs. Dracula in Star Wars.
3) The obscurity of the Jedi. According to Rebels Recon for "Rebel Resolve," it was said the Jedi were few and mainly known by the public through legends and history books. This can lead to why people don't believe in the Force, etc. I'm still working on how to do it.
4) Bail Organa and the formation of the Rebel Alliance. This one pretty obvious, so I don't need to go into detail.

Screw lightsabers, I’ll stick with regular swords. At least they won’t blow up in my face like this franchise has.
I plan on incorporating Tarkin into my Episode II re-write and showing him as someone who doesn't get along well with Obi-Wan or Bail.
I also plan on eventually revealing the history between Vader and Ozzel, but that's for an entry in a spinoff trilogy which doesn't directly tie into my PT re-write.
