Have any of you ever read the novel "Brave New World" by Aldous Huxley?

I thought it was brilliantly dark and that it applies today, even though it was written in the 30's.

I've read it, but it was a long time ago.

If they made a movie of it, it would be rated "R" for sure. There's some disturbing stuff in there.

"He refuses to participate in the normal erotic play."

They did make a movie, it was by ABC or TNT. The basic story was there, but it just focused on the sexuality.

This is the one I saw...

Apparently there was one made in 1980 as well...

They're probably hard to find on DVD though, since they were both made for TV.

Neat! The review for the 1980 one is actually better than for the 1998 one.

Thanks! I'll see if I can rent it or something. I also looked and found a 1945 version of "Brave New World" in black and white. Do you know if it has the same storyline?
