Some cracking ideas - and would make for intriguing tv episodes for any new live action tv series (whether arc-based or episodic in nature).

Am hoping a KOTOR / early Jedi/Sith story will feature in the one of the new Trilogy film series coming our way in a few years too…

And like pittrek said above, also something quite different too 😃

A little patience goes a long way on this old-school Rebel base. If you are having issues finding what you are looking for, these will be of some help…

I’d like to see Jedi Knights actually looking like… knights.

I always thought Kenobi dressed as he did because he was hiding on Tatooine. Then TPM came along and turns out all the Jedi dress like Uncle Owen!?

Yeah it’s laughable. There are even extras in Jabba’s throne room wearing that stuff. I thought Jedi would wear something like Luke had in ROTJ.

To be fair, that wasn’t a PT thing, that was an ROTJ thing. Look what Anakin’s spirit is wearing on Endor.

Or some story where somebody from their universe ends up on Earth.

We already got that movie. It’s called Masters of the Universe.

Back in '83 I assumed Anakin was appearing in Tatooine garb as a kind of symbolic ‘return to innocence’ type thing. In the original novels Anakin had been a farmer like Owen, so it made sense that he would appear in his old duds at the Ewok party. The idea that these robes were official Jedi threads is/was absurd.

When you see all three of those Jedi, and they’re all wearing basically the same thing, the implication there is clear.

Also, “original novels”?

I assume he meant the original novelizations, though I’ve met more than a few people IRL who think the original Star Wars was based on a novel written by George Lucas because the novelization (credited to Lucas, ghostwritten by Alan Dean Foster) was released a good 6 months before the film, and due to the nature of the film’s release, possibly up to a year before the film came out locally for whoever I may have been talking to at the time.

Even then, in the original ROTJ novelization, Owen is actually Ben’s brother, and has no relation to Anakin.

Sorry - novelizations (or novelisations). In the SW novelization Obi Wan tells Luke that Owen had wanted Anakin (not named at this point) to stay on Tatooine and concentrate on his farming. The film itself implied that Obi Wan had recruited Luke’s father for an ‘idealistic crusade’ despite Owen thinking he should have “stayed here and not gotten involved”. So this suggested (to me) that Anakin had been a farmer. Since Anakin was in Tatooine garb at the end of ROTJ, and Lucas himself made it plain that Luke had been in Jedi-garb in ROTJ (which wasn’t tan desert-robes), I naturally assumed that ghost-Anakin was in his old desert apparel.

The idea that Obi Wan was in fact sporting official Jedi-wear (whilst in hiding mind you!) that just so happened to be identical to Tatooine desert-wear is ridiculous.

I’d love to see a Star Wars story, which doesn’t include or even reference any left wing or right wing agenda, make it just a good old “good vs evil” story

Isn’t that kind of a given?

Tbf, the Jedi robes do make sense as a way of blending in. Definitely not something to wear in a warzone though, something which Lucas overlooked when making RotS.

What is RTOS? Do you mean ROTS?

He didn’t say either of the things you said he said.
He did say TBF though. And that’s funny.

Is that why every second post says “AotC is the only good SW movie.”?

Here’s another idea I have in mind. A SW story that takes place in the distant future, the state of the Galaxy, wether it’s being ruled by an evil Empire or the Republic managed to pull through is kept deliberately vague, the Jedi are but a rumour, and it’s unclear if Rey’s efforts to restore the Jedi Order were successful or not, thus many Force-wielders are largely self-taught, with some using the Force to help others much in the same spirit the ancient Jedi used to do and others for self-gain, managing to become rulers of planets and even entire star systems. The knowledge of lightsaber construction has been lost for the most part, thus making them a rare sight in the Galaxy.
And here I’d introduce a bounty hunter as the progatonist who is secretely a Force wielder, alternating between the light and the dark.

Please no. I’ve had enough of the Jedi being extinct. Two purges is too much. You already have two eras to play around with that idea.

Maybe it’s time for the Jedi to end.

Concept: everyone’s a Jedi but nobody uses the cool force powers anymore because they weren’t impressive anymore so it just became a general spiritual/theological thing and everyone lives normal space-lives.

I’d like to see something like Clerks in a Galaxy Far, Far Away…
No tie-in to any characters we’ve seen before. No action scenes. Just a comical look at the day in the life of some guys at work and the customers and existential crises they deal with.

I can’t wait for this to be announced but it turns out to be set at that diner in AotC. 😛
