Hey tedge and welcome.

I am working on a blow-by-blow process write-up. I did the editing on Sony Screenblast Movie Studio, which is a couple year old version of Sony's Vegas. There are fancier programs but I find it very reliable and easy to use. I will be upgrading to Vegas as soon as I can afford it though.

Assuming all goes well the edit should be starting to go up at the newsgroup alt.binaries.dvd even as I type this so anyone who is interested should start looking for it soon.

DJ and familyguyfanboy, let me know if you have newsgroup access....

How can I get a copy without joining a newsgroup? I am willing to pay for a DVD.

I do not have newsgroup access. (Well I don't know what I'm doing, so could ya point me in the right direction? )

You might consider putting the DVD files up on a file sharing program like limewire. It wouldn't require any up-loading beyond putting the files in your "shared" folder, and posting the file names here. It may be one of the easiest options for people to access, and burn their own DVDs.

I would like to know your process as well, because now you've inspired me to do my own de-assification of Terminator 3

Hey buddy!

Newsgroup access generally comes free with your internet provider account. You can search for more details within these forums. But for those who don't have access stay tuned to this thread because I'm working to figure out a good way to get copies in peoples hands.

Sorry though I don't have limewire. I *do* have lime build-up in my shower though but I doubt that'll help you see the edit.

And now for something completely different-

When I was in highschool ('86-'89) one of my cars was a 1973 Buick Elektra... blue and beat up, I further decorated it with- you guessed it- the Bat-symbol! I had the only Batmobile in town. I loved that car. Regretfully it died just before 'Batman' opened in '89 so I wasn't able to drive it to the theater and park it out front.

bingy13, you will need to enable PMs first (and then I'll presume greencapt will have to send the PM again). You can turn them on in your Profile page.

Is capt short for Captain? I've got my newsgroup access working now, found your file, but everything is in Jibberish. Why is this. I am new at the newsgroup thing. HEP ME!

LOL. Deep breathe, buddy...

Yes, capt is short for 'Captain'. Its a pirate thing.

The files are *supposed* to be gibberish- the original film was, wasn't it???

Just kidding- What program are you 'reading' the newgroups with? You'll need to decode the files using your newsreader, usually done after tagging the files. I learned the newsgroups on a simple and stable program called Xnews. You can learn all about using it, and download it as well, here:

I'm not a big Microsoft fan as a rule, but basically I just don't have any experience with Outlook. Xnews is a seriously no-fuss, no-muss program that makes decoding and saving of binaries files very very easy, especially when you're just learning the system.

Did you hear the one about the pirate movie? It was rated...Arrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!

To continue the grovelling for copy, I too would love to see this long-overdue edit (or "remake" as it almost seems like). I did not walk out on it in '97, but I think I checked my watch a lot. I'm not able to download, so if anyone could hook me up, that would be Holy Generosity, Batman! And I'm pretty sure my PM is turned on.
We don't have enough road to get up to 88.
