I'm surprised there weren't any listed. They list the one for 'B & R' (which I doubt would help my edit) but that's all.

I hope there are enough deleted scenes on the Batman Forever dvd that someone could take those and edit the film according to imdb's notes on the original cut.

If you read that DigitalBits snippet again, while it doesn't list them scene for scene, Forever does have "deleted scenes" as one of its features. Not sure how many though. I want to see what cover art they come up with as I'm sure they'll be bad.

Wow, I can't believe I missed this. B&R is the only Batman film we never bought. I have all the others mostly (Batman, Returns, Forever, The Movie, Mask of the Phantasm, Subzero), but not that one. Triming over an hour of it, and improving it still!! This I gotta see. It'll be so much better just to not have Mr Freeze, one of my favorite Batman villians, not spouting puns left and right.

Yes, I'll get it up on the newsgroups, though probably a bit after it goes up on MySpleen (hopefully). I'm test-burning the finished DVD right now. I'll keep everyone posted!

Count me in as extremely interested, and I will be looking out on MySpleen for the torrent. I hated the movie, but ADigitalMan's edits of Menace and Clones have given me hope that if there is even just a little bit of decent material in a disappointing movie, then maybe something good can be salvaged from it. Regardless, I hope I can get a copy, and as I'm sure it has no option but to better then the theatrical version, thanks for the effort.

Hello gang!

Just wanted to let you know that the first batch of DVDs are in the mail so expect them soon. I still need to burn a couple of copies but most of you that I've talked to have them on the way.

Let me know what you think when you watch 'em!

BatmanMD saw it this weekend and said he liked it- we are already planning a Version 1.2 release with some extra goodies on the disc but for now I'm kinda sick of watching the film and need a break.

I told BabyHum that if he wishes to make me an Australian distributor of his discs that's cool by me. I can't really afford to get all these discs from everyone (too much postage cost what with me being in my last few months of school). Actually, I'm not sure if he's still doing that deal, but the same goes for anybody else who wants to spread their DVD releases. I will gladly accept your discs - though I can't pay for any postage or anythin - and then anyone in Australia can get them from me (for free or a very minimal postage cost).

I hope to be able to pay postage to people for discs once this year's over, but for the time being I can only get discs if they're being offered for free. :/

It looks like we'll be getting some distribution down under! Works for me- I'll be sure to get that disc out to you klokwerk, just PM me the rest of your address.

And not only do I look forward to hearing what everyone has to say, I also mailed a copy to Jett at Batman-On-Film.Com. He's done some remarkable work covering all aspects of the Batman movies. And he really LOVES 'B & R'... NOT. Here was his review... hopefully he'll have something to say about the edit.

I would also LOVE a copy of this! I was so saddened by the awfulness (and the assiness) of B&R, that I'm excited to see it in an "improved" cut. I think I might've tried to watch it once on video after seeing it in the theater, but I believe I blocked it out. My friend said after we saw it the first time (I think he was delirious from all the butt and nipple shots): "Batman Forever is the worst Batman movie of all time, but Batman & Robin is somehow worse-- figure that out!"

I'm a newbie here, so if anyone could please PM-- I'll gladly send a blank DVD or whatnot. Thanks!

I had to put the butt shot somewhere! The quote is from the original DVD package and was from film critic Michael Medved- but I added the word 'NOT' in front of his name.

Don't confuse me with ADigitalMan... I'm confused enough as it is!

No, this is my first attempt at re-editing an existing film. It was a blast doing it though. If I do any more in the near future though I think I'll stick to crappy films- easier to improve...

This sounds pretty awesome.

The only redeeming feature of B&R IMHO was the bright colours...so if this retains that while making it a bit more...umm..dark (?) then I'm keen to see it. Has anyone in the UK offered to distrbute yet?

Yes most of the bright colors are still there. No one in the UK has offered yet. I should be post to usenet as well as getting something up at MySpleen in the near future so there will be opportunity there as well. Possibly... just possibly... when the extras are ready for Version 1.2 I'll have a PAL version as well as NTSC... but that's putting the cave before the bat (or something like that).

Hopefully your copy will be in today or tomorrow DAYV.

Also, any suggestions of which newsgroup(s) you'd like me to post this to? Obviously it doesn't really fit in at a.b.starwars but I'm not sure I want to go to one of the BIG groups (ie a.b.DVD, etc)
