Jason and the Argonauts – Criterion Edition
http://img528.imageshack.us/img528/2237/jason73yi.jpg
This is the full screen edition of Jason and the Argonats, with an exclusive audio commentary of Ray harryhausen and Bruce Eder.
From the Laserdisc Newsletter Review : Harryhausen's commentary is valuable simply for the opportunity to hear the vocal color of his words, but he also touches on some aspects of the production that have not been thoroughly covered in past interviews. The combination of his talk and the unspooling of the film can be particularly instructive. For example, Harryhausen reveals that the giant metallic statue, Talos, was actually made of rubber, and it is then immediately apparent that deftly applied sound effects are what makes the sequence so precisely fantastic
The DVD also contains test footage for the movie “The Elementals”, which was never shot, but utilized a creature similar to one appearing in Jason
Also includes: the original Titre Sequence for “Jason and the Golden Fleece”.

Operation Undersea
http://img528.imageshack.us/img528/3715/2000073ch.jpg
52 minutes
Operation Undersea was an entire 1954 episode of DisneyLand which looked at the making of 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea. Since 20,000 Leagues was such a big film, there was a much needed reason to build awareness early to ensure a good box office return. The one-hour (45-50 mins without commercials) was widely expected to appear on the two-disc DVD set, but it never happens.

These sound great, Ash595. Where will they be available? Hopefully myspleen or some other torrent? I'd especially like to see the Jason and the Argonauts, Operation Undersea, and Star Trek 25th Anniversary Special. Was "Star Wars: The Magic and the Mystery" the FOX special hosted by Howie Long about the Special Editions?

Magic and the Mystery is the Howie Long TV special. I think Babyhum will put it on myspleen some day. I made a DVD copy for him

Ash,

I'd love to do Superman 3 and Die Hard 3.

Oh...one other thing. I don't know who's making these for you but I would definitely try to NOT use a PCM track for them. Although it's great to have uncompressed sound, the decrease in visual quality (when using a PCM track) is much greater than the decrease in sound quality (when giving the edge to video)...especially with a mono soundtrack.

My mistake, they all use Dolby AC3 encoding for the audio

Is this the same Making Of that was released on VHS in the US, in a set with Die Hard 1 and 2? If so, it was a great special-- and contains some deleted footage not on the Vengeance DVD. Pretty strange that this Making of wasn't on the DVD.
We don't have enough road to get up to 88.

It comes here in France from a Promo DVD. The only difference with the Japanese LD is the copyright. here in France, Die Har 3 is a Buena Vista property. in the Us and Japan, Fox has the rights. I will send the making of to DigitalfreakNyc
