Hello there. I am interested in a preservation of the Special Widescreen Edition of Star Wars (the one with the shrinking aspect ratio) and am unable to find one on alt.binaries.starwars or myspleen. Does anyone know where I could obtain it?

The Technidisc transfer on myspleen is what you're looking for, but know that it's currently unseeded. Good luck!

I'm not looking for the Technidisc transfer, I'm looking for the original 1989 SWE release, with the shrinking aspect ratio. Unfortunately, I can't find that on MySpleen, only the aforementioned Technidisc.
If anyone knows where I could grab the shrinking ratio one, it would be much appreciated. Thanks.
Did you notice "common SWE" on a.b.starwars ?
It's only the first side or first reel or somesuch, so you don't see the shrinks,
from poita's HLD-X9.

I'm just particularly interested in like the original version with the shrinking not fixed. I believe that DJ_SEW_Ep4_ISR, BLAK0050, and BLAK0047 are what I'm looking for, whichever of those preservations is highest quality that's available would be great, thanks!

The mitsubishi and pioneer pressings are on my to do list after p&s rotj is done. There is no time frame but manual ivtc is finished on rotj and I'll probably do the final encode this weekend.

The SFV file was made by segaflip, and the alternative spelling folder name and all, all his.
All I done was preserve it for nine years.

I believe Mallwaker was referring to the HLD-X9 "Common SWE" file on usenet, whereas Mysteryman12 was referring to the recently uploaded "DJ_SEW_Ep4_Fixed".

What transfer is that?
1993 Silver Screen Collection (German). It has the shrinking ratio on all three films (although not nearly as bad on the third one), and the transfer is pretty ordinary when compared to the THX.
