I have not seen the past 2 halloween specials.

My favorite ones are:

* Khan and Kudos pretend to be Bob Dole and Bill Clinton:

"Abortions for all!"
"BOOO!"
"Okay... Abortions for no one!"
"BOOO!"
"Abortions for some, american flags for others!"
"Yaaaaay!"

Homer: "This false presidential candidates make me want to vomit in terror!"

The 3D Homer:

"Has anyone seen the movie Tron?"

"I wish I have read that book from the guy on the wheelchair!"

The one which Maggie is an alien, and they go to Jerry Springer, and everyone is cursing...

The one with the gypsy curse and Pierce Brosnan playing the HAL-esque home computer:

Homer: "Unless I die... then she would be free to marry man OR machine!"

Marge: "The best thing about being in a gypsy wedding is that I am not the hairest woman here!"

Homer: "Apologising will not bring Bart back..."
Marge: "The gypsy lady said it would!"
Homer: "She is not the boss of me."

*Halloween Special - Burns as Dracula*

*Homer and company knock on door of ominous castle, Burns on intercom*

"Ahhhh...more victims for my army of the undead"

"Uhhh, sir I think the intercom is still on"

"Oh, Son of a Bi---!!"

*Down in the crypts...Homer trying to "stake" Burns*

"Uhhhh, Dad, that's his crotch"

What is the world coming to? Simpson's Halloween Special XV will actually debut BEFORE Halloween. Thank you White Sox for a four game shutout!

I'm actually in favor of this. I could never stand waiting until November for a Halloween special. Just didn't seem right. Fox needs to lose the Series.

Sarcasm was intended in my remark. I've been bemoaning the November Halloween episode since it started.

The friggin team owners need to shorten the season. Series should be over by Sept. 30.

When I and my brother were still living with my parents, the Treehouse of Horror was like an event. Absolutely my favorite episodes of the year. However, since we've both been on our own for about 8 years now, and because the show bl#ws in general now, it's not as big a deal, although I still watch it with my dad.

The show has been on it's own since 1989. Not sure how long it was on Ullman prior to that. So I guess that makes it 17 seasons counting the current run. I think they'll be up around 390 episodes when this season's over. Looooong run. Too bad the last 200 have all s#cked.

I belive it was shown as small short sequences on Tracy Ullman from 1987 to 1989, and from 1989 as the series we know. It's VERY weird to watch a first season episode, which focus on a klasky-csupo-esque family satire realistic comedy, and watch a recent episode which focus on surrealist gag comedy...

And also the animation style is vastly different, and the voice acting. I really can't get any enjoyment out of 1st season episodes anymore. I would say it really became the show I loved during the 3rd season, and died for me around the 10th or 11th.

Off topic, but Ric: You ever watch Battle of the Planets (otherwise known as G-Force)? Or Voltron?

Why don't they release the shorts on a very inecpensive DVD?

Could be rights issues. I don't think Tracey Ullman was produced in-house.

Princess Leia: I happen to like nice men.
Han Solo: I'm a nice man.

Just went and checked the imdb, and I guess it was. Anyhoo, for those who have the time, here's a link to the original Simpsons shorts in DivX: Simpsons shorts.

Not really sure what these are...

These were some of the earlier anime inspired cartoons to hit America. Especially BOTP, which was on in the mid-late 70's. Voltron came on around 1984 and was very popular. It revolved around a group of teen-agers being recruited to pilot 5 robotic lions that could join to form a giant robot and fight the forces of a guy named Prince Lo-tor and his evil witch. Very cool, however after the second season they came out with a different version that was much more Asian (it just didn't "work" for American audiences) and it didn't last much longer than that.

AAACCCCKKKKKK!!!! WTF? They re-ran LAST YEAR'S Treehouse of Horror the night before Halloween and are debuting this years in November? What is up with these programming dickwads at Fox? I thought they'd finally gotten the message, and with Baseball ending early (with the lowest series numbers in TV history to boot) I was under the impression we were getting Treats, not Tricks this Halloween.

I'm taking a private contract out on Fox with Manglers.

You rang?

I agree. Rerunning Treehouse of Horror XV was pretty lame. The programming guys at Fox should be shot for doing this and relegating Arrested Development to Friday night hell.

Isn't Battle of the Planets that one in which they dressed like birds or something?

Yes. Their uniforms did look like birds. If you've ever seen Teen Titans when Robin's riding his motorcycle, that pretty much looks like it.
