Info Wanted: The Exorcist III (Deleted Scene?)

From the IMDB:

Some European prints are rumored to include a scene depicting the violent killing of a priest, removed from the US version after unsuccessful sneak previews. A shot from this scene, showing the beheaded priest sitting on a bench and holding his own head in his lap, can be seen in the French publicity stills."

Can anyone confirm this scene?

In the trailer, you can see footage of Jason Miller & Brad Dourif in some type of morphing effect. This was part of the re-shoot done by Morgan Creek against the directors wishes. Blatty had to fight to have some of the re-shoot removed from the final film, stating that it was not in keeping with the original films theme. Blatty managed to keep it out of his film, but as stated in a comment on You Tube,
“It didn’t stop the suits from sticking it into the misleading trailer.” This trailer was not included on the DVD or as part of the DVD box set of all the films. Sad…

I can confirm the publicity still but the scene was not in the french prints. I saw the movie in theaters.

It's not in the Dutch print either. I only know about 2 promotional pictures of it.

It would be interesting if someone were to take a pan and scan VHS of the film and edit it with the VHS materials in the Director’s Cut to create different low definition versions of the film (a consistent looking DC or a hybrid with Jason Miller but no Nicol Williamson).
