The Disregard Darth Id Pledge

This has worked well before.  Some people only want to smell their own flatulence.  Such is the case with Darth Id.  His sole purpose is to offend as many in Off Topic as possible.  Therefore, if you choose to add your name to this pledge, you must never respond to him.  You may officially put him on ignore if that makes it easier, but you must never directly or indirectly respond to any comment he makes, even in General Star Wars Discussion, where he pretends to be a productive member of society.  If you feel that ignoring the pest might make him leave, please let me know and I will try to update the OP in this thread at least once a day with your name.

I think you miss the point.  Obviously he will see this.  Obviously he will respond.  Obviously he will try to get attention.  But the same thing happened with twooffour a couple years ago, and so many conversations with him ceased that he got bored with being a troll and left folks alone.  Some people only want to troll, and this is the best way to stop conversation with them.  You don't want to participate, that's fine.

 Did that actually happen?  He was banned eventually, but I don't remember him leaving people alone before that.

Yes, he stopped trolling in Off Topic as I recall.  He still posted and annoyed people elsewhere, and then he got himself banned.  I think he was dumber about it.  Darth Id knows he can get away with more here, and that is why he tries to be such a jerk here.

Am I?  I didn't mean I wouldn't make any reference to him, and when I say "here", I mean his actions in Off Topic over the past few weeks.  I just meant that I wouldn't engage in any conversation.  However, if you think I'm not going far enough, I'm willing to amend the pledge.

Well, I thought this might become "our" pledge because I believe he annoys a lot of people.  Heck, I thought he was pissing you off more than anyone.  Regardless, I agree, it is not terribly effective if I keep talking about him, so I will make the First Amendment to the pledge by stating that those who sign will not even discuss him.

I really wish Jay would just ban the guy and others like him.  But this is the next best thing.  I HEREBY TAKE THE PLEDGE

Yes, he's been annoying, but not for ages like 2/4.  And as you said, he's kept it fairly reasonable outside of off-topic.
