Wasn't Grandpa Munster a candidate for congress or something? It's amazing he's still alive.
“Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. It works the same in any country.” — Nazi Reich Marshal Hermann Goering

Yeah, he ran for public office, but I can't remember if it was congress or something more local.

Mostly, I remember his cameo in Gremlins 2.

Princess Leia: I happen to like nice men.
Han Solo: I'm a nice man.

I'd rather not remember Gremlins 2, period.

I just checked the IMDB...he ran as the Green Party candidate in the NY gubernatorial race in 1998 (he was born in 1910, so he would have been 88 at the time).

Al Lewis was running for Governor? I would've thought he'd be too honest to be a politician.

Actors love getting invloved in politics: Grandpa Munster, Arnold Schwazenneger, Ronald Reagan, Gary Coleman...

Wouldn't it be cool if he won, and he dressed up as a vampire while in office?

Yep, knew about Reagan. RIP.

As for TV on DVD, DigitalBits had a rumor that they might be working on season set releases of The Greatest American Hero for 2005. That show was a classic.

I will be buying (very gleefully) my season 1 set of Quantum Leap tomorrow. HAPPY HAPPY JOY JOY!!!!

Has anybody heard what happened with CSI yesterday? George Eads (Nick Stokes) and Jorja Fox (Sara Sidle) were fired by CBS in a pay dispute. Officially titled "breach of contract" by CBS. First day of taping, to boot. That show's gonna be hurting now. Wouldn't it be funny to see CSI: Miami outlive the original?

Yeah I know. It's a great show, but it's on twice a day every day on TV land anyway.

My stance on revising fan edits.

They were actually fired? All I'd heard is that they didn't show up for work because of a contract dispute.

My parents have the complete collection of the Dick van Dyke Show on DVD (DVD on DVD, you could say).

I'm holding out for Hogan's Heroes.

the series I wish they would put on DVD is the live action 1960's Batman and Robin (with Adam West and Burt Ward) I loved that show when I was kid. I would buy that the day it came out.

Finally picked up Season 1 of The Simpsons. The price has dropped to $15.99 up here, so I couldn't resist.

I guess it's a good thing that George Eads has his, albeit, brief gig as Evel Knievel.

Buy the Season sets of Futurama. The more sales of the show on DVD the more likely the show will come back. I want that show to come back bad. Its such a funny show. In my opinion Futurama is the funniest cartoon ever. Funnier then the Flinstones, Simpsons, Family Guy, none can compare with the geneous of Futurama. The DVDs also have great picture quality and a good set of extras.

Fry - Wouldn't want to sniff Uranus get it
Hubert - the Planet of Uranus was renamed in the 2600s to put an end to that stupid joke once and forall
Fry - Whats it called now
Hubert - Urectum

I don't think it will come back regardless of sales. I know that Family Guy is coming back. However, Matt Groening has pretty much given up on Futurama the last I heard. He was disgusted by the lack of respect for his show so he's given up on it. Putting all his energy into The Simpsons.
