Lets talk about all the turtles media here not just the new movie.

Seriously I've been waiting for this movie since I was 4 and the last one came out I'm getting some friends together to go see it.

I seriously hope they pull this off. I'm hopeful, but not quite optimistic.

I'm really looking forward to this as well, having been a big fan of the original comic series.

Wow, that sound very promising actually. Can't say I like the animation style from what I have seen so far, but that is something easily enough overcome.

Hmm, Peter Laird is an executive producer, but he didn't help write the story as far as I can tell. A guy named Kevin Munroe wrote the story and directed the movie.

Too bad they are not doing it the graphic style version of the Turtles.

Will see the new film when I get a chance, though I have my doubts/reservations.
I'd like a qui-gon jinn please with an Obi-Wan to go.

I'm guessing that's just saying that they were the creators of the characters and original stories.

The official movie website does not mention them as writers of this new story. Neither does the official website for the teenage mutant ninja turtles (which is where I'd expect to find any information relating Peter Laird or Kevin Eastman to the story):

Of the four theatrical Turtles films, this is the best for sure.

Although I didn't think the movie was horrible...I don't think it comes close to any of the originals...

Turtles 2>>Turtles>Turtles3>TMNT

The Secret of the Ooze was amazing...the best by far.

This movie sucked ass. Its only redeeming factor was the art style. The story and voice acting (especially Splinter, my God he was terrible) sucked.

I felt like I just watched an hour and a half long video game cutscene/toy commercial (which is not unlike the feeling I get watching ROTS these days.)

I saw it opening weekend (on my 37th birthday) and thought this film was very cool! I'm an animation nut and have enjoyed the Turtles in their various incarnations. I think this film was the best of the four! I watched TMNT 1 earlier today and I'm watching part 2 right now. I saw all of them when they were first released in the theatres, but I don't think time has been too kind to these movies. Still, they are quite enjoyable for what they are. I hope we get an animated sequel to TMNT 4.

I saw it twice last weekend. I enjoyed it so much the first time that I went back the very next day to see it again, and movies don't usually give me that feeling. I guess my old Turtle fanatacism from being a kid came back to me. But I thought it was really great, and Raphael is more of a badass than he's ever been. The story took kind of a backseat to the characters, and I'm all for that. Plus, it had some genuinely funny moments.

A few criticisms, though: April O'Neil getting the classic CG female makeover of a twelve-inch waist with very pronounced (but still only 13-inch) hips.

What was the deal against Nightwatcher? I thought it was pretty funny when Leo lectured him about "this vigilante nonsense", because how is that any different than what the Turtles always did? A great deal of the human population were wary of them for that very behavior. So I just didn't get that.

But speaking of Leo, for all you video game fans here, did anybody else notice that he was voiced by James Arnold Taylor (Tidus in Final Fantasy X). I remember I realized it during the Leo/Raph rain scene. Leo's voice cracked at one point, and I went, "Hey, that's Tidus!"

Not that that is going to stop you from dreaming… Only in this case, Gaffer is actually a guy.

I knew it sounded familiar, and I was thinking Taylor for most of the film. The credits confirmed my suspicion.

As for what I didn't like: 1) The opening narraration was delivered a bit too seriously for the subject matter--not the parts about what happend 3000 years ago, but the parts about the Turtles. Granted it was forgotten pretty quick, but it did give a bit of a poor first impression.

And, 2) even with training from Splinter, I highly doubt that April would be capable of taking on Foot Ninja. In the second movie she couldn't even use nunchucks right and it takes years to really master any martial art.
